Contemporary hip hop project 129BPM performs in Malaysia

It is expected that on August 4-5 at Dewan Sri Pinang Theater (Georgetown, Penang Island, Malaysia), the contemporary hip hop play '129BPM' produced by Vietnam will be performed within the framework of Georgetown Festival 2025.

This is an annual arts festival in Penang and is one of the largest arts events in Asia, contributing to connecting the public with Malaysian and international artists in many art forms such as dance, music , drama, visual arts, film, photography...

129BPM was launched to Ho Chi Minh City audiences in December 2024

129BPM, choreographed by French-Vietnamese artist Bui Ngoc Quan, is inspired by the average human heart rate in stressful situations, so that in a space where the dancers' physical and emotional bodies are pushed to the limit, their bodies will become the embodiment of resistance, desire and liberation, thereby posing the question: Can we find a common rhythm to move together even when we are different?

The dancers participating in the project are famous hip hop names in Vietnam such as Nguyen Duy Thanh, Lam Duy Phuong, Nguyen Do Quoc Khanh, Nguyen Hoang Bao Ngoc, Bui Quang Huy...

The show is produced by H2Q Dance Company in collaboration with Goethe Institute Ho Chi Minh City.
