Weather forecast for today (June 25) to the morning of June 26, in the Northern and North Central regions, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, some places will have very heavy rain. Rainfall in the mountainous and midland areas of the North is 50-100mm, some places over 150mm; in the Northern Delta region 30-70mm, some places over 100mm; in the North Central region 20-50mm, some places over 70mm; heavy rain is concentrated at night and in the morning.

Flood warning on rivers in the Northern region:

At 7:00 p.m. on June 24, the water flow to Hoa Binh Lake was 3,332 m3/s; the water level downstream of the Red River at Hanoi station is changing slowly and at a low level.

Implementing Official Dispatch No. 06/CD-QG at 3:30 p.m. on June 24 of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, at 10 p.m. on the same day, Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant opened 1 bottom spillway gate.

In the coming hours, the water level of the downstream Red River will depend on the flood situation from the upstream Red River and the operation of the Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang hydropower plants.

From noon today, the water level at Hanoi hydrological station will gradually rise and reach 3.8m (5.7m below BĐ1) at night, after that the water level at Hanoi station will depend on upstream floods and discharge operations of hydroelectric reservoirs.

From now until June 27, there is a possibility of a flood on rivers and streams in the Northern region, with a flood amplitude of 2-5m in the upper reaches of rivers. During this flood, the peak water level on small rivers and streams, and the upper reaches of Thao, Chay, Lo, Thuong and Boi rivers are likely to reach and exceed alert level 1.

Warning of high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous provinces, midlands in the North and Thanh Hoa, especially the provinces: Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang.
