Weather forecast May 30, 2024: Central Highlands, Southern region has very heavy rain

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (May 30), in the afternoon and evening, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 70mm.

Also this afternoon and evening, the Central Highlands and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, in some places over 80mm.

Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas. Beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas.

Meanwhile, today, the North and Central Central regions will have hot and extremely hot weather, with some places experiencing especially intense heat, with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, some places above 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranging from 50-60%.

From May 31, the heat in the Central region is likely to gradually ease.
