According to monitoring data in the past 24 hours (from 8:00 on November 19 to 8:00 on November 20), the eastern part of Dak Lak province recorded very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The total rainfall was commonly measured from 200 - 400 mm. In particular, some localities recorded record rainfall such as: Son Long (Son Hoa commune) 504 mm; Ha Bang (Dong Xuan commune) 503 mm; Xuan Quang (Dong Xuan commune) 384.4 mm.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, heavy rain will continue to occur in communes and wards in the eastern part of the province. The key affected areas include: M'Drắk, Tuy Hòa, Sơn Hòa, Sông Hinh, Tây Hòa, Phú Hòa, Đông Hòa, Tuy An, Đồng Xuân and Sông Cầu.
Total rainfall is forecast to range from 100 to 200 mm, with some places exceeding 300 mm. The meteorological agency has warned of heavy rainfall, which could reach over 150 mm in just 3 hours.
Warning of the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, roads in urban areas and industrial zones. Special precautions should be taken against landslides in areas with steep terrain, weak geological foundations and areas along rivers and streams.
In addition, thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong winds, causing the risk of roofs being blown off, trees being broken, affecting the safety of people and pets.
It is forecasted that from November 23, the rain will gradually decrease and this heavy rain will likely end. Authorities and people need to actively monitor the next news to have timely response plans.
