International tourists to Da Nang increase sharply

DNVN - In the first 5 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists. Of which, international visitors on tours to the city increased by more than 37%; international visitors served by accommodation establishments in the area are estimated at 2.2 million, an increase of nearly 36%.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, revenue from accommodation and catering services in the area in May is estimated at nearly VND 2,900 billion, up nearly 3% over the previous month and up more than 29% over the same period last year. In the first 5 months of 2025, revenue from accommodation and catering services is estimated at more than VND 13,000 billion, accounting for nearly 20% of total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue, up 24.4% over the same period last year.

In May, the number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the area is estimated at more than 1 million, up 4% over the previous month and up 25% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 444 thousand, up 3% over the previous month and up nearly 22% over the same period.

In the first 5 months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated at 4.6 million, an increase of nearly 21% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international guests are estimated at 2.2 million, an increase of nearly 36%; domestic guests are estimated at 2.5 million, an increase of more than 10% over the same period in 2024.

The average number of overnight guests in the past 5 months was 1.81 days/time, of which international guests stayed 1.98 days/time; domestic guests stayed 1.61 days/time (same period in 2024: 1.72 days/time for general guests; 1.82 days/time for international guests and 1.60 days/time for domestic guests).

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, in May 2025, accommodation, food and beverage and tourism activities in Da Nang continued to flourish thanks to the long holiday and a series of exciting events taking place in the area. Outstanding festivals such as the DIFF 2025 international fireworks, Blue Wave Dance, beach tourism season and many sea sports competitions have attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

The number of visitors to Da Nang has increased sharply, especially by air and the return of international cruise ships, contributing to boosting revenue at accommodation establishments, restaurants and hotels. Tourism activities have also grown positively, especially international visitors on tours.

Specifically, the number of tourists on tours served by travel agencies in May is estimated at more than 137 thousand arrivals, up 5.4% over the previous month and up nearly 52% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors on tours to Da Nang are estimated at nearly 40 thousand arrivals, up 3.4% over the previous month and up nearly 50% over the same period last year.

In the first 5 months of 2025, the number of tourists traveling on tours to Da Nang is estimated at nearly 527 thousand, an increase of more than 29% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors increased by more than 37%; domestic visitors increased by more than 26% and Vietnamese visitors traveling abroad increased by nearly 20% over the same period last year.

“Over the past 5 months, revenue and the number of tourists have maintained a steady growth momentum. The above results affirm the attractiveness of Da Nang tourism brand, and at the same time show the effectiveness of promotion, advertising and diversification of tourism products in the context of a strong market recovery,” commented the Da Nang Statistical Office.
