Combining the economic and cultural potential and strengths of the former Ca Mau - Bac Lieu region, tourism The southernmost tip of the country now takes on a fresh new look, a harmonious blend of shared and unique colors.

Located in Hiep Thanh ward, Quan Am Buddhist Temple is one of the famous spiritual tourist destinations in Ca Mau.

Mr. Le Thanh Phong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, commented: “The consolidation of administrative boundaries has strengthened Ca Mau's tourism potential. Among these, tourist destinations that have become recognized brands include the Ca Mau Cape Tourist Area, U Minh Ha National Park, Cao Van Lau Theater, Bac Lieu Prince's House Tourist Area, Quan Am Buddhist Temple, Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant Tourist Area... In addition, famous traditional craft villages, cultural festivals, and diverse cuisine of the three ethnic groups Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa are also valuable resources for tourism development. Tourism businesses promote OCOP products from Ca Mau at a tourism event in Can Tho City.

In the first half of 2025, the number of visitors to tourist areas and attractions in the province reached over 5.1 million. Total revenue from all types of services reached 4,890 billion VND, achieving 57% of the annual plan.

Notably, on August 19th, Ca Mau commenced construction on several key transportation projects, including the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, the road to Hon Khoai Island, the Hon Khoai dual-use general port, and the upgrading and expansion of Ca Mau Airport. Upon completion, these projects will not only alleviate transportation infrastructure bottlenecks and enhance regional connectivity, but also create significant momentum for the province's development, including the tourism sector.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hon, owner of Hoang Hon Community Tourism Center (Dat Mui commune), shared: “Local people are eagerly awaiting the completion of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway to facilitate travel and goods transportation. In addition, with this modern transportation route, more tourists will visit Dat Mui, creating more jobs and stable income for the people, and providing more motivation for businesses and individuals to invest in tourism development.”

According to the province's development orientation, leveraging the unique natural resources and cultural identity of the southernmost region of Vietnam, tourism will be one of the important economic sectors, playing a leading role in the economic structure, contributing to comprehensive economic, cultural, social development and environmental protection. Priority will be given to developing key tourism types such as: ecotourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, community tourism, and agricultural and experiential tourism associated with the conservation of natural resources, promoting traditional cultural values, revolutionary historical relics, and strengthening regional linkages and connecting tours and routes both domestically and internationally.

With its many converging advantages, Ca Mau will develop tourism in a rapid, sustainable, professional, civilized, and modern direction, with focused and targeted investment, in line with the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy and the province's overall socio-economic development plan. The province aims to transform tourism into a comprehensive service industry with interdisciplinary and interregional characteristics, high knowledge content, significant ripple effect, and high social participation.
