There's always a solution for every problem!

Following the "four on-the-spot" principle, the armed forces of Tay Ninh province proactively and promptly mobilized personnel and resources to help people reinforce dikes, harvest crops, and minimize damage caused by rain and storms. These practical and compassionate actions continue to spread the image of the new-era Ho Chi Minh's soldiers, always standing alongside the people in all circumstances.

Militia members in Hung Dien commune reinforce dikes at vulnerable points.

In recent days, prolonged heavy rains combined with water flowing from the upper reaches of the Mekong River have caused water levels in the Đồng Tháp Mười region to rise rapidly, resulting in localized flooding of many agricultural areas. In Hưng Điền commune, floodwaters are still rising. At Se Điển peak, Trăng river, Bưng Ràm hamlet, water has overflowed a more than 2km section of dike, threatening approximately 100 hectares of rice fields in the milk-filling stage. To promptly rescue the situation and prevent water from flooding the fields, more than 30 officers and soldiers from the Hưng Điền Commune Military Command are diligently transporting soil to reinforce the dike, deploying mobile pumps to drain the water, and resolutely preventing the flooding of people's crops.

There were times when dark clouds gathered, thunderstorms raged, or the midday sun blazed, yet the soldiers persevered, digging hundreds of cubic meters of earth to block the impending floodwaters. Commander of the Hung Dien Commune Military Command, Pham Huy Manh, said: “Militia soldiers are assigned to stand guard day and night on the critical sections of the dike. During these days, everyone is putting in their best effort and working together to save the rice crops and help the people.”

In Vinh Chau commune, water levels are rising in many areas, threatening hundreds of hectares of rice and other crops. In Vinh An hamlet, nearly 200 hectares of rice are in the development stage, while Roc Nang hamlet is a specialized fruit-growing area with high economic value. As water levels rose rapidly, threatening to overflow the banks, the commune's Military Command mobilized all militia forces to work day and night, determined to protect the farmers' crops.

From early morning until the scorching midday sun, the soldiers busily transported sacks of soil to critical locations. Despite the hardship and their shirts soaked with sweat, everyone exerted themselves to the best of their ability, determined not to let the floodwaters sweep away the people's hard work.

According to Commander Le Van Tung of the Vinh Chau Commune Military Command, the unit has established a rapid response team to proactively handle natural disasters and incidents. Upon receiving instructions from the Commune Party Committee and People's Committee, the unit immediately mobilizes forces and equipment to the area for rescue operations. No matter how difficult the circumstances, the commune's armed forces are always ready to work day and night to protect the lives and property of the people.

Militia members of Vinh Thanh commune help people harvest rice.

Mr. Do Phuoc Loc's family (residing in Vinh An hamlet, Vinh Chau commune) owns 5 hectares of jackfruit trees that are currently ready for harvest. During the days of rising floodwaters, he was worried about the risk of his entire orchard being submerged. But in just one morning, with the timely assistance of the militia, the vulnerable section of the dike was reinforced, preventing the water from overflowing. Mr. Loc emotionally shared: “Thanks to the timely assistance of the militia soldiers, my family was able to protect our orchard and crops. I am truly grateful to them for their tireless efforts in helping the people during this difficult time!”

The 14 hectares of rice fields belonging to Mr. Le Tan Danh and Mr. Le Thanh Cong (residents of Vinh Thanh commune) are also at risk of total loss due to deep flooding. Militia forces, police, and neighbors quickly arrived and worked together to harvest the rice to "escape the flood." On the vast, waterlogged fields, nimble hands harvested, gathered, tied, and transported the rice. Sweat mixed with water, and the hurried meal in the fields was still filled with the warm bond between the military and the people.

Mr. Danh said emotionally, “Our whole family depends on this rice field. Thanks to the timely help of the militia and neighbors, we have been able to harvest a portion of the land. We are truly grateful for the dedicated assistance of the local armed forces.”

The image of officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces, undeterred by difficulties, standing side-by-side with the people to reinforce dikes, harvest crops, and protect peaceful lives, is a testament to the strong bond between the military and the people, and at the same time demonstrates the qualities, courage, and spirit of the provincial armed forces in the new era.
