On May 25, Tuoi Tre Online recorded that at famous tourist attractions in Nha Trang such as Ponagar Tower, Oceanographic Museum, Vinpearl Nha Trang, Dam Market... at ticket counters, businesses, and stalls, cashless payment methods are being implemented.

In the past, when buying tickets or paying for goods, tourists often asked if they accepted bank transfers. However, according to our observations, accepting non-cash payments has become proactive and has become a habit of the majority of tourism agencies and businesses in Nha Trang City...

Just arriving at the ticket counter at Ponagar Tower on the morning of May 25, Ms. Tran Thuy Tien (32 years old, a tourist from Can Tho) opened the banking app on her phone to pay 60,000 VND for 2 entrance tickets. It took less than 30 seconds for the transaction to be completed.

Ms. Tien said she arrived in Nha Trang 2 days ago, and during the trip she mostly used non-cash payment methods.

"Paying without cash when traveling is really convenient. I also scan the QR code to pay when taking a taxi or an open-top bus. I also scan the code when going to tourist areas. I also scan the code to pay for hotels and food" - Ms. Tien said.

In less than 2 minutes to buy 4 tickets to visit the Oceanographic Museum, a female Korean tourist shared that it was very convenient to use cashless payment in Nha Trang.

This female tourist said that in previous times when traveling to some provinces and cities, she had to exchange Korean won for Vietnamese currency to spend, but when coming to Nha Trang, she did not need to do so, most activities and destinations have one-touch payment, no cash.

"I just need to use a phone with an integrated payment app to be able to travel everywhere in Nha Trang" - said the female tourist.

Mr. Huynh Tan Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa province - said that the department is continuing to promote the use of non-cash payment methods at traditional markets, night markets, shopping malls, etc.

According to Mr. Hai, the use of non-cash payment methods has created convenience for people and tourists when paying for products and services, contributing to promoting digital transformation in business activities.

Mr. Cung Quynh Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province - said that the Provincial People's Committee has issued many documents directing the promotion of non-cash payment at tourist areas and entertainment venues in the province.

Mr. Anh said the provincial tourism industry always encourages tourism businesses to participate in and build cashless payment systems to facilitate tourists.

"In the coming time, from the province's tourism software, tourists can find tourist destinations with listed prices, well-invested and cashless payments," said Mr. Anh.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Nhut - Chairman of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association - cashless payment is inseparable from tourism development. Khanh Hoa tourism industry always encourages tourists not to use cash.

Cashless payment helps tourists feel safe and stable, avoiding negative situations that may occur when using cash when using tourism services.

Mr. Nhut believes that in order for cashless payments to become more popular, communication, digital transformation, and digital technology infrastructure must be developed.

"Currently, Khanh Hoa tourism industry has applied technology to tourism activities. Tourists only need to use their phones to pay for services and purchases," said Mr. Nhut.

Restaurants reduce losses when customers pay cashlessly

Mr. Le Vu Anh - manager of Bon Mua Park restaurant (Nha Trang city) - said that most tourists coming to this restaurant use non-cash payment.

According to Mr. Anh, customers paying by non-cash method makes restaurant operations easier, and cashiering, accounting, and revenue and expenditure also save a lot of time.

"If payment was mainly made in cash before, then every time we collected and spent money to close a shift, it would take a lot of time and be prone to errors.

However, tourists using cashless payment methods have helped restaurants reduce losses, save staff and time," said Mr. Anh.
