To proactively innovate and adapt, creating breakthrough momentum for statistical activities, Thanh Hoa Statistics Office has been actively implementing solutions, ensuring complete, comprehensive, objective, honest and accurate statistical information, promptly serving the development of strategies, plans, policies, solutions for leadership, direction and management of socio-economic development of the province and all levels and sectors.

The Provincial Statistics Office has closely coordinated with departments and branches to compile and provide socio-economic statistical information to serve the direction and administration of local leaders. In 2 years (2020 - 2021), in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Statistics Office has collected a lot of in-depth information and coordinated with relevant units to forecast growth scenarios with specific solutions so that local leaders have more information in direction and administration. In 2023, from the beginning of the year, the Provincial Statistics Office issued a general inspection, examination and supervision plan according to Decision No. 56/QD-CTK dated February 15, 2023. In addition to 145 approved inspections, every quarter, the Statistics Office establishes 4 inspection and supervision teams in 11 to 12 districts, towns and cities in the quarter. The inspection and supervision contents include: implementing professional training, selecting a team of investigators, reviewing the list of investigation units and inspecting and supervising the investigation team working at the investigation unit...

Identifying information technology, digitalization, and artificial intelligence as the key to all activities, especially statistical activities at present and in the future, the General Statistics Office has quickly deployed the development and application of many software to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality in operations. The collection and synthesis of statistical information by the Provincial General Statistics Office has maximized the application of information technology, using software in analyzing and processing data in a timely manner, better meeting the statistical information needs of all levels and sectors, aiming to completely integrate relevant administrative data in the sectors. In particular, in the investigation, collection and processing of statistics, information technology has been basically applied in all stages. In particular, the main method of direct interviewing to fill in information on electronic questionnaires with the help of tablets and smartphones (CAPI) and the information provider fills in information on electronic forms online (Webform). The application of information technology has brought practical benefits in improving data quality, increasing transparency and rigor of statistical information production process, shortening the time to publish survey results, and reducing statistical survey costs.

The quality of statistical information has been increasingly improved, promptly serving the requirements of party agencies, government, sectors and localities in planning, operating, promoting growth, economic development of the province and solving problems arising in economic and social life.

In performing its professional tasks, the Provincial Statistics Office has excellently completed its tasks every year. In particular, it has successfully organized two major censuses in the province, namely the 2019 Population and Housing Census and the 2021 Economic Census. The survey was conducted with 100% electronic questionnaires on mobile devices (CAPI) and online questionnaires using the internet (Webform), this is a great success for the statistics sector in general and the Provincial Statistics Office in particular.

To meet the requirements of innovation and integration, in the coming time, the Provincial Statistics Office will direct the implementation of statistical surveys in the province in accordance with the proposed plan and schedule, especially the stage of closely checking and monitoring input information, accurately reflecting the current situation and actual situation. Continue to improve the analysis of the macroeconomic situation and major balances in the province's economy, promptly reflect and forecast fluctuations in each industry and field; build a database system to forecast the socio-economic situation of the province, of each industry and field, serving the leadership, direction and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels, increasingly meeting the needs of users of statistical information.

The unit also shares information with departments, branches, sectors and localities, contributing to gradually ensuring data consistency; coordinating the implementation of connecting and sharing administrative data between state management agencies to form a centralized, unified, transparent, high-quality and effective statistical information system. Training and retraining the sector's civil servants; raising awareness and sense of responsibility to better serve the leadership, direction, administration and management of Party committees, authorities and other information users in accordance with the spirit of "Better data, better life".
