PhuthoPortal - The Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress set the goal of developing tourism into one of the province's important economic sectors. Recognizing its advantages in tourism potential and resources, Phu Tho province has focused on implementing a comprehensive set of tasks, solutions, and investment orientations to develop tourism. To date, Phu Tho's tourism sector has seen significant progress, with annual growth in tourism business results, gradually striving to successfully achieve the goals set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

Developing and promoting unique tourism products in the ancestral land region.
During the period 2021-2024, the province's tourism sector focused on developing unique tourism products to increase the attractiveness of the province and extend the length of stay for tourists in Phu Tho. This contributed to the formation of five groups of unique tourism products: cultural tourism products; ecological, resort, and entertainment tourism products; community tourism products; agricultural and rural tourism; and educational tourism products.
In particular, cultural tourism products have strongly promoted the unique cultural values of the ancestral land. Through the organization of the annual Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival, and the "Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week" program with a series of cultural, sports , and tourism events that have a wide reach, such as: the Vietnamese Children's Ao Dai Festival "Towards the Roots"; the performance of Vietnamese traditional Ao Dai costumes; the Viet Tri Open Cycling Race for clubs; the famtrip "Colorful Journey of the Central Highlands"; the "Back to the Roots" Marathon, etc., tourists can experience the rituals and practices of the Hung Kings worship belief and characteristic tourism products associated with the ancestral land. In addition, two intangible cultural heritage sites representing humanity, Phu Tho Xoan singing and the Hung King worshiping belief in Phu Tho, have been enhanced in terms of exploitation and promotion of their values, thereby creating unique tourism products such as: the "Hung Temple Night Tour" program with the theme "Returning to the Roots - Sacred Ancestral Land"; "Water procession ritual associated with the development of Bach Hac community cultural tourism site, Viet Tri city"...

Long Coc tea hill, Tan Son district - one of the highlights of ecotourism.

Ecotourism is being promoted to attract investment in construction, gradually improving quality and effectively exploiting ecotourism, resort, health care, entertainment, sports tourism, and themed tourism products in key tourist centers. This aims to diversify tourism product types, create attractiveness for tourists, increase their length of stay and spending when visiting Phu Tho. Notable examples include tourist destinations such as Thanh Thuy hot spring resort in Thanh Thuy district; Xuan Son National Park and Long Coc tea hill in Tan Son district; the golf course investment project in Tam Nong district which is preparing to be put into operation; and the paragliding adventure tourism product currently being surveyed and researched at Long Coc tea hill in Tan Son district, all of which have become highlights of Phu Tho tourism.
In particular, the Thanh Thuy hot spring resort area in Thanh Thuy district has attracted several large-scale investment projects to develop high-end, health and wellness tourism products in the form of a chain of services with competitive advantages according to 4-5 star standards, such as: Wyndham Thanh Thuy hot spring resort; Vuon Vua eco-tourism and villa resort; Bamboo Thanh Thuy resort, etc., which are becoming key resort tourism centers of the province, attracting a large number of visitors from Hanoi and neighboring provinces for relaxation and experiences. It welcomes and serves an average of 300,000-500,000 visitors annually.

Vườn Vua Resort & Villas and other resorts in Thanh Thủy boast beautiful natural landscapes and facilities that meet the needs of tourists.

In addition, there is a system of ecotourism products and scenic spots in Xuan Son National Park and Long Coc tea hills in Tan Son district, such as: trekking in Xuan Son National Park; Lap village - Coi village (2 days 1 night); trekking for students (Du village - Lang village).
Community-based tourism products are also receiving investment and support in areas with development potential, thereby creating highlights for tourism. Notable examples include the Hung Lo community-based cultural tourism site, which welcomes tourists at the ancient houses of Hung Lo, attracting domestic and international visitors regularly. Another example is the development of homestay tourism services, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the cultural identity of the Dao and Muong ethnic groups in Xuan Son National Park.
Making Phu Tho a tourist destination.
The Phu Tho Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, sets the goal of striving to make Phu Tho a leading investment destination in the northern midland and mountainous region by 2020, with the vision of becoming one of the leading industrial, service, and tourism centers in the region, a place worth living in, worth visiting, safe, and prosperous.
Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated: To realize this goal, in the coming time, Phu Tho's tourism industry will strive to focus on several key tasks and solutions such as: Strengthening the mobilization of resources to continue investing in tourism infrastructure and technical facilities at the province's five key tourism centers: Viet Tri city, Thanh Thuy district center, Xuan Son National Park and Tan Son district center, Ha Hoa district center, and Tam Nong district center, in order to form complete and synchronized tourism areas and attractions, and tourism products that appeal to domestic and international tourists.
Focusing on developing resort tourism – one of the current trends in sustainable economic development – is crucial. Among the districts with outstanding potential and advantages are Thanh Thuy, Tan Son, Ha Hoa, and Viet Tri city. Thanh Thuy, in particular, with its rare hot springs and diverse natural landscapes, is a preferred choice for tourists seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Located approximately one hour from Hanoi, this also presents an opportunity for real estate investors and eco-urban developers to capitalize on the market potential.

Students from Hung Vuong High-Quality School experienced and learned about the Hung King worshiping tradition and Xoan singing at Hung Lo ancient village (Viet Tri city).

Furthermore, we will proactively continue to research, develop, and promote unique and attractive tourism products in the ancestral land region, appealing to both domestic and international tourists. These include: cultural tourism products linked to world and national cultural heritage values (Phu Tho Xoan singing, Hung King worshiping belief in Phu Tho, Au Co Mother Goddess worshiping belief, Hung Temple National Special Monument, etc.); eco-tourism and resort products linked to the exploitation of Xuan Son National Park, Long Coc tea hills, Tam Nong golf course, etc.; community tourism products in Xuan Son, Hung Lo, Long Coc, Bach Hac National Parks, etc.; sports tourism products in Tam Nong, Viet Tri, Long Coc, and Xuan Son; agricultural and rural tourism products linked to the OCOP program and the new rural development program; and educational tourism products at historical sites and revolutionary relics.
Emphasis will be placed on applying modern information technology, implementing digital transformation, and improving the efficiency and professionalism of tourism promotion activities both domestically and internationally. Focus will be placed on training and developing high-quality tourism human resources, particularly in localities developing community-based tourism. Research will be conducted to develop and promulgate mechanisms to support the development of tourist areas and destinations; support community-based tourism; support production facilities for characteristic provincial products and souvenirs; and mechanisms to encourage reputable travel agencies to regularly bring large numbers of tourists to Phu Tho… The investment and business environment will continue to be improved, with a focus on administrative reform, enhanced investment promotion, and improved state management of tourism.

In 2024, Phu Tho province is estimated to welcome 6.63 million tourists, including 830,000 overnight visitors, a 7% increase compared to 2023, reaching 104% of the plan. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 4,100 billion VND in 2024, a 22% increase compared to the same period. Over the period from 2021 to 2024, the number of overnight tourists visiting the province has increased rapidly and steadily, with a growth rate of 39.6% per year, international tourists increasing by 38% per year; and tourism revenue increasing by 54% per year.
