Building and developing unique tourism products for the homeland
In the period of 2021 - 2024, the provincial tourism industry has focused on building the province's unique tourism products, in order to increase the attractiveness of attracting visitors, prolonging the length of stay of tourists in Phu Tho. Contributing to the formation of 5 groups of unique tourism products of the province: Cultural tourism products; Eco-tourism, resort, entertainment products; Community tourism products; Agricultural and rural tourism; School tourism products.
In particular, cultural tourism products have strongly promoted the unique cultural values of the Ancestral Land. Through the organization of the annual Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival, the program "Cultural Week - Ancestral Land Tourism" with a series of cultural, sports and tourism events that have a wide influence such as: Vietnamese Children's Ao Dai Festival "Towards the Origin"; Vietnamese traditional Ao Dai costume performance; Open Viet Tri Club Cycling Race; organizing the famtrip "Colorful Travel Journey of the Central Highlands", Marathon "Back to the Source", ... helping tourists experience the rituals of practicing the Hung Kings' worship and typical tourism products associated with the Ancestral Land. Along with that, two representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity, Xoan singing in Phu Tho and Hung King worship in Phu Tho, have been increasingly exploited and promoted, thereby building unique tourism products such as: "Hung Temple Night Tour" with the theme "Returning to the Origin - Sacred Land of the Ancestors"; "Water procession ceremony associated with the construction of the Bach Hac community cultural tourism site, Viet Tri city"...

Ecotourism is promoted to attract investment and construction, gradually improving the quality, effectively exploiting ecotourism products, resorts, health care, entertainment, sports tourism, thematic tourism at key tourist centers to diversify types of tourism products, create attractiveness for tourists, increase the length of stay and spending of tourists when visiting and experiencing Phu Tho. These include tourist destinations such as Thanh Thuy hot mineral water resort, Thanh Thuy district; Xuan Son National Park and Long Coc tea hill in Tan Son district; golf course investment project in Tam Nong district is about to be put into operation; paragliding adventure tourism products are being surveyed and researched for implementation at Long Coc tea hill, Tan Son district, ... have been and are creating highlights of Phu Tho tourism.
In particular, at Thanh Thuy hot mineral water resort, Thanh Thuy district has attracted a number of large-scale investment projects to build and develop resort and health care tourism products in the form of high-end service chains, with scale and competitive advantages according to 4-5 star standards such as: Wyndham Thanh Thuy hot mineral resort; Vuon Vua eco-resort and villa resort; Bamboo Thanh Thuy resort, ... are becoming the province's key resort tourism center, attracting a large number of visitors from Hanoi city and neighboring provinces to relax and experience. Welcoming and serving an average of 300,000 - 500,000 visitors annually.
Along with that is a system of eco-tourism products and scenic spots at Xuan Son National Park and Long Coc tea hill in Tan Son district such as: Trekking tours at Xuan Son National Park; Lap village - Coi village (2 days 1 night); trekking for students (Du village - Lang village).
Community tourism products are also invested in and supported in areas with development potential, thereby creating a highlight for tourism. Among them, the Hung Lo community cultural tourism site welcomes tourists at the Hung Lo ancient houses, attracting domestic and international tourists to visit and experience regularly. Or homestay tourism activities, developing community tourism to serve visitors to experience and explore the cultural identity of the Dao and Muong ethnic groups at Xuan Son National Park.
Making Phu Tho a tourist destination
The planning of Phu Tho province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, sets the goal of striving by 20230 for Phu Tho to become the leading investment destination in the Northern midlands and mountainous region, with the vision of being one of the leading industrial, service and tourism centers of the region, a place worth living, worth visiting, safe and prosperous.
Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: To realize this goal, in the coming time, Phu Tho Tourism industry will strive to focus on a number of key tasks and solutions such as: Increasing the mobilization of resources to continue investing in infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism in 5 key tourist centers of the province: Viet Tri city, Thanh Thuy district center, Xuan Son National Park center and Tan Son district, Ha Hoa district center and Tam Nong district center to form complete and synchronous tourist areas and destinations, attractive tourism products for domestic and international tourists.
Focus on developing resort tourism - one of the current sustainable economic development trends. In which, the districts with outstanding potential advantages are Thanh Thuy, Tan Son, Ha Hoa and Viet Tri city. Especially Thanh Thuy, a locality with rare hot mineral resources and diverse natural landscapes, is the priority choice for tourists looking for relaxation and energy regeneration. With a location about 1 hour away from Hanoi, this is also an opportunity for real estate investors and eco-urban area developers to capture market potential.
Along with that, proactively continue to research, build and develop unique tourism products of the Ancestral Land, attracting domestic and international tourists such as: Cultural tourism products associated with the values of world and national cultural heritage (Xoan singing in Phu Tho, Hung King worship in Phu Tho, Au Co worship, Hung Temple special national relic site...); eco-resort tourism products associated with exploiting the values of Xuan Son National Park, Long Coc tea hill, Tam Nong golf course...; community tourism products at Xuan Son National Park, Hung Lo, Long Coc, Bach Hac...; sports tourism products in Tam Nong, Viet Tri, Long Coc, Xuan Son; rural agricultural tourism products associated with the OCOP program, the new rural program; school tourism products at historical sites, revolutionary relics.
Focus on applying modern information technology, implementing digital transformation, improving the efficiency and professionalism of domestic and international tourism promotion activities. Focus on training and developing high-quality tourism human resources; human resources in localities developing community tourism. Research, develop and promulgate a number of mechanisms to support the development of tourist areas and destinations; support the development of community tourism; support establishments producing products, typical products of the province, souvenirs; mechanisms to encourage branded travel agencies to regularly bring large numbers of tourists to visit Phu Tho... Continue to improve the investment and business environment, focus on administrative reform, strengthen investment promotion and strengthen state management of tourism.
In 2024, Phu Tho is expected to welcome 6.63 million tourists, of which 830,000 are staying tourists, up 7% compared to 2023, reaching 104% of the plan. Total tourism revenue is estimated to be 4,100 billion VND in 2024, up 22% over the same period. Including the period 2021 - 2024, the number of staying tourists to the province increased rapidly and steadily, with a growth rate of 39.6%/year, the number of international visitors increased by 38%/year; tourism revenue reached an increase of 54%/year.
