This document agrees with the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training in submission No. 692 dated April 27, regarding the cancellation of the document approving the policy allowing the establishment of FLC University.
Previously, FLC University received approval for its establishment on June 3, 2019.
According to the establishment plan, FLC University was initially proposed to be built on an estimated 50 hectares in the Ha Lam and Ha Trung wards of Ha Long City, with a total estimated investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND.
The project includes major components such as: administrative and faculty buildings; lecture halls; practical training areas; library land; dormitories, etc.
Machinery and equipment were mobilized for the groundbreaking ceremony of FLC University on August 25, 2019.
According to the initial plan, the project was divided into two phases: phase 1 (2019-2021) - investing in the construction of facilities to meet the training requirements for approximately 2,000 students; phase 2 (2022-2025) - continuing to invest in the construction of the remaining facilities to achieve a training capacity for approximately 7,500 students.
At the time of the project's groundbreaking ceremony, FLC Group promoted its program as training in key fields such as high technology, tourism , and aviation. The school planned to enroll its first cohort of students at the end of 2020 with an initial enrollment of 600 students, increasing to 6,100 students by 2024 and 10,000 students by 2035.
However, in contrast to the grand groundbreaking ceremony in August 2019, the project has remained dormant until now.
