As of August 21, 2025, more than 70,000 train tickets had been sold, reaching 41% compared to the same period in 2024.
To meet the increased travel demand, in addition to the regular daily trains, the Railway industry will organize 51 additional trains on routes with high demand. Along with that, the schedule and departure/arrival stations of some trains in the Hanoi area will be adjusted from August 21 to September 2, 2025 to meet the increased travel demand and coordinate with the plan to organize the anniversary activities of Hanoi city.
Specifically, the North-South route regularly runs 6 pairs of Thong Nhat trains SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE9/10, SE11/12; the Hanoi - Da Nang route, in addition to the regularly running SE19/20 train, adds 2 trains SE17 (August 29) and SE18 (September 1); the Hanoi - Vinh route, in addition to the regularly running NA1/2 train, adds 5 trains: NA3 (August 29, 30), NA4 (August 31, September 1), and NA8 (September 2).
In addition, the Hanoi - Thanh Hoa route will increase 8 trips with TH1/TH2 trains running on August 30, August 31, September 1 and September 2; the Hanoi - Dong Hoi route will increase 2 trips: QB1 train (August 29) and QB2 train (September 1); the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, in addition to 4 regular train pairs, is expected to run 4 more trains; the Saigon - Quy Nhon route will increase a total of 12 trips, including: SE30 train (from August 28 to September 1), SE29 train (from August 29 to September 2), SQN2 train (August 29) and SQN1 train (September 2); The Saigon - Nha Trang route will have 9 additional trips, including: Train SNT4 (August 29, 30), trains SNT6, SNT8, SNT10 (August 29), and trains SNT3, SNT5 (September 1, 2); the Saigon - Phan Thiet route will have 6 additional trips, including: Train SPT4 (August 30, 31, 2) and Train SPT3 (August 30, 1, 2).
The Hanoi - Lao Cai (SP3/4, SP7/8), Hue - Da Nang (HD1/2, HD3/4), Saigon - Da Nang (SE21/22) routes are still operating regularly to serve passengers. In addition, the Railway sector has also set up 2 separate trains to transport about 1,200 soldiers from Hanoi to Tam Ky and Saigon on September 3, 2025 after completing their duties at the parade.
The Railway Industry will also adjust the schedule of some train routes in Hanoi to serve activities to celebrate the 80th National Day.
Accordingly, Hanoi city will ban many routes from August 21 to September 2, 2025, therefore, the Railway industry will adjust the departure and arrival stations of some trains as follows: Hanoi - Hai Phong route running LP8/LP7 trains on August 21, 24, 27, 29 and September 1, 2025 will end and depart at Long Bien station; HP2 trains on August 21, 24, 27, 29 and September 1, 2025 will end at Long Bien station; LP5 trains on August 21, 24, 27, 2025 will depart at Long Bien station (15 hours 26 minutes); HP1 trains on August 30 and September 2 will depart at Long Bien station (6 hours 10 minutes); Trains LP2/3 and LP5/6 on August 30 and September 2, 2025 will end and depart at Long Bien station.
The Hanoi - Lao Cai route runs train SP8/7 on August 21, 24, 27, 29 and September 1, 2025, ending and departing at Gia Lam station; train SP3 on August 21, 24, 27, 29 and September 1, 2025, departing at Gia Lam; train SP4 departing at Lao Cai station on August 29 and September 1, 2025, ending at Gia Lam station the following day.
The Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route adds a pick-up/drop-off station option at Giap Bat for trains on the southern route.
During the time Hanoi City closes the road to serve the activities of the 80th National Day Anniversary, traveling to Hanoi Station may be difficult. The Railway industry recommends that passengers arrive at Hanoi Station at least 60 minutes before the train departs to ensure they do not miss their train.
Hanoi Railway Station will open an additional passenger gate at Gate No. 1 Tran Quy Cap to facilitate travel.
