Duy Nien performs at the final night of the 2025 Golden Voice Competition for Lyrical Folk and Bolero Songs.
The Golden Voice Contest for Lyrical Folk and Bolero was held for the first time in 2024, as a playground to find good voices for Vietnamese people aged 16 and over living in the country and abroad. This is also a place for those who are passionate about singing to have the opportunity to show their musical talents, honoring the values imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity. In the first season, the contest attracted more than 1,200 contestants to compete. The prestige of the tournament was also affirmed when the Jury was made up of famous Vietnamese artists such as: People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Trung Duc, famous singer Giao Linh, famous singer Ngoc Son, People's Artist Quoc Hung, famous singer Thai Chau, singers Tuan Hiep, Lam Quynh...
Duy Nien was born in Dong Loi, Trieu Son district. Loving business, but always having a passion for singing, Nguyen Van Nien decided to launch a unique acoustic cafe model so that he and everyone could fully enjoy music. Since then, his passion for music, especially lyrical folk music and Bolero, has increasingly permeated him. For Duy Nien, music is not only a passion but also the language of the heart - where Nien can express all emotions, from joy, sadness to great aspirations. "I want to try my hand at a professional competition, to experience new things" - that is what Nien shared when he decided to join the Golden Voice of Lyrical Folk Music and Bolero competition at the Vietnamese Music Arena season 2.
For the first time participating in a competition, performing on a big stage, especially performing in front of a panel of judges who are all famous and experienced in the genre of lyrical and Bolero music, Duy Nien could not help but feel nervous. Overcoming himself, bringing his voice and spreading love for his homeland and country through music to everyone, with the dedicated guidance of his coach, Duy Nien surpassed many contestants to be present at the final night.
The song "Anger" by Ngoc Son was chosen by Nguyen Van Nien to perform at the final night of the contest.
In the final night of the 2025 Vietnam Music Arena competition held on May 18, 2025 in Hanoi , Nguyen Van Nien decided to choose the song Giận hận by Ngoc Son, a person he greatly admires, to perform. Putting himself in the mood of the song and performing with all his heart, Nguyen Van Nien excellently won the 1st runner-up prize in the Bolero music genre. This is a worthy reward for Nien's tireless efforts and burning love for music.
The 1st runner-up prize in the Bolero music genre at the Vietnamese Music Arena season 2 is an important "stepping stone" for Duy Nien (front row, 3rd from right) to develop his musical path in the future.
After winning the 1st runner-up title in the Bolero genre at the Vietnamese Music Arena season 2, Nguyen Van Nien said he was very emotional, surprised and proud: “To conquer the music path is not easy. Winning the 1st runner-up title in the Bolero genre at the Vietnamese Music Arena season 2 is the sweetest gift for me. I will continue to strive, try, hone my skills, live and burn out with my love for music to bring my voice to the hearts of many music lovers.”
