THACO AUTO and BMW expand electric vehicle charging station system in Vietnam

THACO AUTO and BMW are stepping up investment in building DC (Direct Current) charging stations, and cooperating with Charge+ to expand the network of new charging stations, meeting the growing demand for customers owning BMW electric vehicles.

Currently, THACO AUTO has put into operation 3 DC fast charging stations with a capacity of 120kW in Ho Chi Minh City (BMW Sala), Binh Duong (BMW Binh Duong) and Hanoi (BMW Long Bien). These stations allow charging 80% of the battery in about 30 minutes and 100% after 45 minutes. BMW iX3, BMW i4 and BMW i7 users are completely free of charge for charging services at these points.

It is expected that in 2025, THACO AUTO will expand 6 new DC charging stations in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi , Can Tho, Nha Trang and Vinh, bringing the total number of DC fast charging stations nationwide to 9 stations. The new charging stations have a capacity of 60 kW, with charging times from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

At the same time, THACO AUTO cooperated to develop a charging station system with Charge+, the leading electric vehicle charging solution provider in the Southeast Asian market, meeting BMW's technical standards. Customers can use the charger at 17 charging points from the Charge+ system, making the use of electric vehicles more convenient.
