Approval to implement 3 eco-tourism projects

In the first 9 months of 2025, the tourist routes and destinations of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park welcomed more than 836,900 visitors, of which domestic visitors accounted for more than 688,000, up 2% over the same period last year, international visitors reached more than 148,000, up 18%. In 2025, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park strives to welcome over 1 million visitors.

Recently, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park has also been honored by many world travel organizations and websites.

Most recently, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park won double at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025 in September 2025 in Hong Kong (China), with two prestigious categories: Vietnam's Leading Natural Destination 2025 and Asia's Leading National Park 2025.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park has just been approved by Quang Tri province to implement 3 eco-tourism projects in Song Chay - Hang Toi, Suoi Nuoc Mooc, and Hang Kling with a total investment of 33.49 billion VND.

Specifically, the eco-tourism project "Diversifying tourism products and services at the Song Chay - Hang Toi eco-tourism site", with a total investment of more than 14.6 billion VND, implemented in the form of socialization; deployed in sub-area 606, Phong Nha commune with an area of ​​180,000m2.

The eco-tourism project “Diversifying tourism products and services at Suoi Nuoc Mooc eco-tourism site” has a total investment capital of more than 14.6 billion VND, implemented in the form of socialization; deployed in Thuong Trach commune with a total area of ​​35 hectares, of which the construction area is more than 4,500m2.

In particular, the eco-tourism project "Discovering Bach Xanh Da and Kling Cave", implemented in sub-areas 645, 643 and 288A of Thuong Trach commune, with a total investment capital of 4.29 billion VND in the form of investment cooperation, implementation period until 2030.

Along with other tourism products, this new eco-tour promises to bring visitors extremely interesting experiences when seeing with their own eyes the population of Stone Cypress discovered in 2004, an ancient, rare, endemic plant species of the world that currently only exists in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang evergreen tropical forest and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Focus on protecting the tourism environment

Along with exploiting potential and promoting heritage values, in recent times, Quang Tri province has also paid great attention to protecting the tourism environment.

Through propaganda to raise awareness of officials, workers, local people and tourists about preserving the common landscape, building a green, clean and beautiful heritage environment; organizing environmental protection training courses for tour guides, porters, local people participating in tourism; organizing environmental interpretation programs for students in the buffer zone communes.

At the same time, always strictly manage tourism activities, strictly comply with the limit on the number of visitors; develop environmentally friendly tourism products; regularly inspect the environmental protection work of tourism operators in the area and assess the impacts of tourism activities on stalactite formations and cave environmental factors; limit the use of disposable plastic items in all tourist routes and destinations; all types of waste are collected and taken out of the national park for treatment according to regulations; install trash cans and environmental protection propaganda boards at boat piers and tourist destinations; promote digital transformation in management, scientific research, biodiversity conservation and smart tourism development.

The efforts along with synchronous and practical solutions of Quang Tri province aim towards the goal of sustainable tourism development, opening up a new direction for eco-tourism associated with conservation, bringing visitors unique experiences while spreading the message of nature protection in the Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Heritage area.
