The love story of the couple brought together by the contest "Road to Olympia"

(Dan Tri) - Having met each other after competing in the show "Road to Olympia", Van Anh and Quoc Huy never expected to end up together.

The filming of the show Road to Olympia at Vietnam Television (VTV) has just ended, Dao Van Anh (born 1997) wearing a wedding dress with her boyfriend Nghiem Quoc Huy entered the studio.

Under the spotlight, the couple, who were contestants of the competition, seemed to relive the thrilling moment 10 years ago. Knowing that Van Anh and Quoc Huy wanted to take their wedding photos at the place that "brought them together", hundreds of spectators clapped their hands in congratulations .

"Having the opportunity to take wedding photos at a special location, we feel lucky. When we heard the audience clapping, we were a bit shy and happy," Van Anh shared with Dan Tri reporter .

In early October, the couple officially got married after 2 years of dating. For them, it was the competition that gave wings to their love story to come to a sweet ending.

Fall in love nearly 10 years after competing in Olympia

Van Anh said that in 2015, she and Quoc Huy competed in the Road to Olympia in two different matches. At that time, Van Anh stopped at the weekly competition, while Quoc Huy excelled in the weekly and monthly rounds to participate in the quarterly competition.

One day, by chance, a girl from Quang Ninh watched a program on TV in which Quoc Huy was competing. She was especially impressed with the male student's intelligent face and extensive knowledge.

After the competition, the two became members of the community that gathered contestants who participated in the Road to Olympia competition .

The day Van Anh went to Hanoi to study at the University of Law, she had the opportunity to meet Quoc Huy again - a new student at the University of Technology in a meeting of the group of former candidates. After that, due to their busy studies, the two had few opportunities to talk.

In 2022, a trip with former contestants in Hue became a turning point in their love story.

"That time, I was accidentally assigned to the same group as Quoc Huy, so we had the opportunity to talk more. After the trip, my husband took the initiative to text me to confide. I was quite indifferent because I hadn't thought about love yet," the girl recalled.

After 6 months of chatting, Van Anh realized that the two had many common views on lifestyle and future orientation. She decided to open her heart and agreed to meet Quoc Huy.

"When I met Quoc Huy, I found him to be mature and thoughtful, different from his scholarly appearance. His sense of humor and responsible lifestyle attracted me," Van Anh recalls.

A few months later, during a date, Quoc Huy took the initiative to confess his love to the other person. Being confessed by a guy made Van Anh confused. She never thought that a close friendship would turn into love in such a short time.

"At that time, I was quite hesitant about love so I wanted to have time to think. Everything happened so fast, I was almost shocked," the girl confided.

While waiting for an answer, Quoc Huy expressed his feelings sincerely and passionately. The persistent pursuit and warm heart of a boy of the same age immediately moved the girl.

"In December 2023, after a concert, I agreed to become Quoc Huy's girlfriend. He was so moved that he was speechless. To this day, my husband and I still occasionally recall that special moment," Van Anh shared.

Hope you will become candidates in the future

After 2 years of dating, Van Anh feels lucky because the love affair is smooth and she receives support from both families.

Since becoming a couple, she has felt more and more the maturity of Quoc Huy. He is not only a soul mate but also supports his wife a lot in her work.

After graduating from university, Van Anh worked as a lawyer - specializing in legal consulting for businesses, while Quoc Huy became an aerospace engineer.

"Our jobs seem unrelated, but with his sharp thinking ability, Quoc Huy knows how to give timely ideas and advice. Many times, my husband helps me solve problems in work and life," Van Anh shared.

Although they share the same outlook on life, she admits that both husband and wife have their own personalities so conflicts are inevitable.

Instead of trying to argue and defend their personal views, causing their relationship to crack, Van Anh and Quoc Huy choose to be calm and understanding. When there are disagreements, the couple talks frankly and finds a solution to help their relationship become more connected.

On April 30, Quoc Huy officially proposed to Van Anh. Unlike other guys, he chose to express his feelings with sincere eyes and simple words that made his girlfriend choke with emotion.

"On the day of national reunification, North and South reunited as one family, my husband wants the two of us to soon be living together," she shared.

Talking about the wedding photos taken at the studio, Van Anh said that she and her husband came up with the idea themselves, then contacted the program crew for permission. After 3 months of waiting, they finally had the opportunity to take this special photo set.

The moment she stepped into the studio, Van Anh was overwhelmed by the changes in the program. Standing on the contestant podium, she felt like she was returning to the memories of her carefree and innocent student days. In particular, the thoughtful welcome and warm affection of the crew members moved the couple.

Due to their busy work schedules, the couple has had little time to watch the Road to Olympia competition in recent years. However, Van Anh and her husband often spend time watching the thrilling finals of the year. They gather with other former contestants to watch and answer questions to review their knowledge.

Starting a new life after marriage, Van Anh and Quoc Huy decided to support each other in work and accompany each other to build a happy home.

"Thank you to the program Road to Olympia for helping us get to know each other. Thank you to the program's crew for helping us take our wedding photos at the place where our youth is preserved . My husband and I hope that in the future our children will have the opportunity to become contestants of the program. However, we believe in not putting pressure on them and respecting their choices," Van Anh said.
