Sơn Tùng's music video team apologizes to artist Lê Giang.

In the early hours of June 3rd, Microwave Soups issued an apology to visual artist Le Giang, admitting that they had referenced the visual language of her relief sculpture, Vestige of the Land, without prior permission or consultation.

"We take full responsibility for this oversight. We are well aware that each work of art is the result of a serious creative process and bears a deep personal imprint. This unfortunate incident has caused you to feel hurt and disrespected. We sincerely apologize for not handling the artwork and its creator with sufficient care and respect," Microwave Soups shared.

The company stated that it proactively contacted artist Le Giang to offer a personal apology. The parties are currently continuing discussions to find a suitable solution. At the same time, Microwave Soups also apologizes to its partners and all related parties for any impact resulting from the controversy.

"This incident is a valuable lesson for the team in managing sources and reviewing products. Microwave Soups is committed to seriously reviewing and tightening internal operating procedures to prevent similar mistakes in the future," said the art director and set designer for the COME MY WAY music video.

Shortly afterward, Antiantiart – the production and coordination unit for the project – reposted Microwave Soups' apology post.

"Antiantiart acknowledges that the team's mistake was failing to properly control the background design of Microwave Soups. And when errors occur, we also bear responsibility for the overall coordination and control process," Antiantiart shared.

The company also apologized to singer Son Tung for causing him to be affected by the controversy, and stated that it is coordinating with Microwave Soups to work directly with artist Le Giang.

Previously, on June 2nd, the non-profit arts organization Grapevine posted an article on Threads, sparking debate about the similarities between visual artist Le Giang's installation "Vestige of the Land" and a scene that appears at approximately 3:55 in Son Tung M-TP's music video "COME MY WAY ".

The organization also released the content of email exchanges between Le Giang and the project team. In these exchanges, the female artist questioned the origin of the idea for this setting and suggested that the set in the COME MY WAY music video had some similarities to her work from 2017.
