Specifically, the rain accompanied by a thunderstorm on the morning of June 12 broke the branches of many star apple trees on Nguyen Trai Street (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City); collapsed the welcome gate of Le Binh Cultural Ward (Cai Rang District, Can Tho City)... Fortunately, the natural disaster did not cause any human casualties.

According to the Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station, in the coming days, Can Tho City will continue to be affected by the circulation of storm No. 1, with thunderstorms continuing to appear. The Can Tho City Civil Defense - Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command recommends that people limit going out when thunderstorms occur; strengthen the bracing of houses to limit roof damage and collapse; trim trees on sidewalks and near houses to limit dangerous falling and breaking; do not work in open fields to prevent lightning strikes...

From the beginning of 2025 to now, Can Tho City has experienced 3 types of natural disasters: 6 riverbank landslides; 5 heavy rains accompanied by storms; 1 high tide. Specifically, rain accompanied by storms occurred in the districts of Binh Thuy, Thot Not, Thoi Lai, Vinh Thanh, Co Do, causing 2 houses to collapse, 13 houses to be roofed off, causing no casualties, but estimated property damage of about 547 million VND. Riverbank landslides occurred 6 times in the districts of Cai Rang, Binh Thuy, O Mon, Thot Not and Thoi Lai district, with a total landslide length of 168m, completely destroying 5 houses, affecting 3 traffic routes, causing no casualties but estimated property damage of over 1.8 billion VND. The city also recorded a high tide causing flooding on many inner-city roads in Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, O Mon districts... After the disaster occurred, the Civil Defense - Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of Can Tho City and local authorities at all levels promptly mobilized rescue forces, supported people to repair houses, overcome consequences, and stabilize their lives.
