At 10am this morning, November 28, the new Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam, Julien Guerrier, had an online exchange with readers of Dan Tri newspaper. This was Ambassador Guerrier's first online exchange with readers since he began his term of office in Vietnam in September.
Today (November 28) also marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the European Union (November 28, 1990 - November 28, 2023), in the context of the relationship between the two sides achieving many important breakthroughs.
At the meeting with Dan Tri , Ambassador Guerrier was ready to answer questions about areas and aspects of interest to readers in Vietnam - EU relations, as well as his personal experience as a senior diplomat in Vietnam.

Ambassador Guerrier has worked for nearly 30 years at the European Commission, mainly in the areas of international trade negotiations, industrial policy and research, as well as business management.
Ambassador Guerrier was one of the participants in the negotiation process for Vietnam's accession to the WTO. The Ambassador believes that Vietnam has a very special position both geopolitically and economically in the region, so the EU wishes to continue to support and cooperate with Vietnam in the future.
The EU attaches importance to developing relations with Vietnam on the basis of trustworthy political relations, extensive economic cooperation and rich cooperation potential, especially in new fields and development trends of the world such as clean energy transition and green transition.
