Vietnam Export Import Commercial Bank (Eximbank - HoSE: EIB) has just announced a Board of Directors' resolution approving the record date for determining the list of shareholders and the payment date for the 2023 dividend.

Accordingly, Eximbank plans to pay a cash dividend at a rate of 3% (shareholders owning 1 share will receive 300 VND). At the same time, the bank will also issue shares to pay dividends at an exercise ratio of 100:07 (shareholders owning 100 shares will receive an additional 7 new shares).

The record date for determining eligible shareholders to receive dividends is September 20, 2024. The expected payment date for cash dividends is October 4, 2024.

Gelex Group Joint Stock Company currently holds nearly 174.7 million EIB shares, equivalent to 10% of the bank's capital, and is expected to receive 52 billion VND from Eximbank's cash dividend payment this time.

Earlier in May, Eximbank announced a Board of Directors resolution on implementing a dividend payment plan with a total rate of 10%.

Specifically, the bank plans to distribute cash dividends from accumulated undistributed profits up to 2023, after allocating funds, totaling VND 552 billion.

Simultaneously, Eximbank plans to issue shares to pay dividends to shareholders. Accordingly, the bank expects to issue nearly 121.9 million new shares. After the issuance, the bank's charter capital is expected to increase by VND 1,219 billion to VND 18,688 billion.

Thus, for the first time in a decade since 2014, Eximbank shareholders have received cash dividends again.

After distributing a cash dividend of 4% in 2024, Eximbank did not distribute any cash dividends during the period from 2015 to 2023.

Previously, in 2023, Eximbank distributed stock dividends to shareholders twice, at rates of 20% and 18%.

Specifically, in February 2023, the bank issued shares from retained earnings of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 at a rate of 20%, totaling VND 2,459 billion.

By October 2023, Eximbank continued to issue 265 million shares from retained earnings from previous years (end of 2021) and 2022, increasing its charter capital to VND 17,470 billion.

On the stock market, at the close of trading on September 5th, EIB shares were trading at 18,600 VND per share with a trading volume of over 5.3 million units.
