The FBI is offering a $500,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the bomber, who was wearing Nike Air Max Speed shoes, a mask, glasses, gloves and a gray hooded sweatshirt, the FBI said.
The subject placed bombs outside the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican parties in Washington DC.
Two pipe bombs were placed just outside the Democratic and Republican Party headquarters in Washington DC, just blocks from the Capitol, according to CBS News.
Despite the release of detailed maps, security camera footage and potential identification, the suspect has yet to be found. Two years ago, investigators released video footage showing the suspect walking on Capitol Hill at the time two homemade bombs were planted.
The two bombs did not explode, but the FBI said they were "live" and dangerous. At 1 p.m. on January 6, 2021, as protesters began to remove police barricades to storm the Capitol, a citizen accidentally discovered the two bombs.

The FBI said the bombs were placed outside the two party headquarters the night before the attacks, between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. According to a report obtained by CBS News in March 2021, the bombs had only one detonation method: a 60-minute cooking timer.

The report, prepared by the National Explosives Task Force, found no evidence of a secondary detonation method or remote detonation, such as by cell phone. It is still unclear why the two bombs failed to detonate.
In a statement this week, the FBI said identifying the bomber was a priority for law enforcement.
