International Festival of New Asia-Europe Music: Many international musicians write about Vietnam

According to the Organizing Committee, the special feature of this year's Festival is the appearance of many works written about Vietnam by international musicians, such as "Vietnam Dream" by a Russian musician.

The 4th Asia-Europe International New Music Festival, organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with central agencies and Hanoi, will take place from November 27 to December 1 in Hanoi and Phu Tho.

Sharing with the press on November 20, Major General, Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh (Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association) said that this year's festival will have the participation of about 30 delegates and artists from: Russian Federation, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Adygea, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, China, Australia, Laos... will participate in performances, exchanges and teaching.

On the Vietnamese side, there are about 220 musicians and artists from domestic art troupes including: Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Vietnam National Academy of Music, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet; Military University of Culture and Arts, Vietnam Musicians Association...

The 2025 Asia-Europe International New Music Festival is an art forum for Vietnam to continue promoting the achievements of Vietnam's revolutionary music and new works of Vietnamese musicians to international friends. This is also an opportunity for foreign musicians and artists to better understand the country, people, culture and music of Vietnam, contributing to consolidating and tightening good relationships and enhancing the position of Vietnam's professional music industry in the world.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations , Chairman of the Art Council of the Vietnam Musicians Association affirmed that the Festival is a major music event, affirming the borderless connecting power of instrumental music.

The participation of many international musicians and artists shows that Vietnam's musical life is increasingly appreciated by international friends, and the position of Vietnamese music on the world music map is also increasingly enhanced. Through the Festivals, it can be seen that the young creative force of Vietnamese music is growing stronger.

The opening ceremony of the event took place on the evening of November 27 at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music with a symphony concert performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, opening a series of artistic activities throughout the 5 days.

On November 28, the audience will enjoy an international chamber music concert, where artists from many different musical backgrounds will present their representative works, reflecting the creative spirit and the Asian-European fusion trend in modern music.

November 29 is a special highlight with two chamber music concerts at the Military University of Culture and Arts, including: Chamber music concert by young Vietnamese musicians and international chamber music concert by the Moscow Contemporary Chamber Orchestra - one of the prestigious orchestras of the Russian Federation.

On November 30, the Festival space was expanded beyond Hanoi with an art exchange program at the Heritage Park (Cao Phong, Phu Tho). This is a meaningful cultural highlight when international artists and Vietnamese artists blend together the local culture - where there is a unique Muong cultural heritage. The combination of the Moscow Contemporary Chamber Orchestra and the Hoa Binh Ethnic Arts Troupe promises to create a unique program, bearing the mark of East-West musical exchange.

Within the framework of the Festival, there will be lectures by international experts for students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music: Lecture by Professor Deqing Wen on the combination of Eastern and Western musical instruments; orchestra conducting class by conductor Borja Quintas; chamber performance and conducting instruction by the Moscow Contemporary Chamber Orchestra for students...

The Festival concluded on the evening of December 1 with a closing ceremony and symphony concert at the Vietnam National Academy of Music./.

After 3 editions held in Vietnam, in 2014, 2016, 2018, the Asia-Europe International New Music Festival has become a prestigious mark of Vietnam's professional music life. Each edition attracts over 200 musicians, artists, singers... from more than 40 countries around the world, bringing a vibrant and useful space for musical exchange.
