On November 21, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the first Political Contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation among union members and young people in 2025.
Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers Nguyen Pham Duy Trang said, we all realize that, in the strategy of peaceful evolution against Vietnam, hostile forces always focus on luring, seducing, plotting to transform the youth, denying the ideological foundation of the Party. Because the youth is the future of the Fatherland, the shock force, the backbone of the country.
Orienting and promoting the role of youth in participating in protecting the Party's ideological foundation is an especially important task, of decisive significance to the destiny of the Fatherland.
The contest is not only a playground for intellectual political debate, but also a forum for cadres, union members and young people to demonstrate their mettle, intelligence and belief in revolutionary ideals; an opportunity to propagate, spread and affirm the lasting values of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought and Vietnam's path to socialism.
According to Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, digital transformation is not only a trend, but also a very effective method to innovate propaganda and political and ideological education, adapting to the information access of today's young generation.
The Central Secretariat of the Youth Union believes that this spirit and method will continue to spread in the activities of the Youth Union in the coming time.
Author Nguyen Ho Manh (A prize, work "Proactively preventing the risk of ideological manipulation from artificial intelligence in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation" ) shared that he came to this topic not from an assignment, but from a worry. The worry when witnessing the speed of AI development that can create perfectly fake videos and articles, which can manipulate the perception of friends and the younger generation.
After researching, the author realized that: "We cannot be afraid of technology, but must master it. The most effective "shield" is not to ban it, but to build "digital resistance" from within each young person. That is to equip critical thinking, to build a solid theoretical foundation so that AI will always be a tool for development, and can never become a weapon against us."
According to the Organizing Committee, although it is the first year, the contest has strongly applied digital transformation in the organization. The entire process from posting, reviewing, voting, and grading the preliminary, preliminary, and final rounds are all carried out on a digital platform, ensuring scientific, impartial, and transparent nature.
At the same time, the Youth Union at all levels actively and proactively promoted, guided and mobilized union members and young people to participate in the contest. The influence of this year's contest was huge, with nearly 200,000 entries, including localities where nearly 50% of union members in the whole province participated.
In general, the entries were well-invested, with quality content and diverse forms. Many entries touched on current issues, new, important, and breakthrough policies that our Party has implemented in recent times, such as the reorganization of the political system, the "breakthrough quartet" resolutions, and the era of national development.
At the same time, the works are approached from the perspective of young people, so they are very close, new, and creative. From this year's Competition, the Youth Union has drawn many valuable experiences in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
The final round of the contest recorded 3 A prizes, 6 B prizes, 11 C prizes and 17 Encouragement prizes awarded to individuals and groups of authors with outstanding contributions.
In the newspaper and magazine group, the A prize went to the work "Proactively preventing the risk of ideological manipulation from artificial intelligence in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation" by author Nguyen Ho Manh.
For the video clip, radio and television category, the work "The Road I Travel Bears the Color of the National Flag" by the group of authors Le Hai Ha, Vu Truong Duy, Do Tuan Anh and Le Tran Phuong Ngan was awarded the highest prize.
In the graphic product category, the A prize was awarded to the work "Eliminating the ideology of you and me in the revolution of streamlining the apparatus" by the trio of authors Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Nguyen Thi Le Thuy and Le Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc.
Along with individual awards, the Organizing Committee also awarded collective awards to units with outstanding achievements in mobilizing entries. The Military Youth Union took the lead with 82,858 entries (including paper and electronic copies).
Next is the People's Public Security Youth Union with 19,630 entries. Regarding the participation rate of union members, Hung Yen Provincial Youth Union achieved the highest level with 25,683 entries./.
