Seminar "Improving the quality of education and training, current situation and direction for Ca Mau province"

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan expressed his pride in the important results of the province's Education and Training sector, with a system of 772 educational institutions, more than 24,000 staff and teachers, and gradually invested facilities; of which, more than 86% of public schools meet national standards. The quality of education continues to be maintained, demonstrated by the high school graduation rate in 2025 reaching 99.37% and the average score of exam subjects ranked 2/5 in the Mekong Delta region, ranked 15/34 in the country.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized that the seminar is an important opportunity to listen to opinions from experts and the education team, thereby clearly identifying the "bottlenecks" that need to be prioritized and proposing strategic solutions for the coming period, focusing on: Improving the quality of the team, perfecting facilities, innovating governance, building a healthy educational environment, promoting digital transformation, modernizing vocational and university education; at the same time, strengthening cooperation in science , technology and digital education.

At the seminar, experts presented many papers focusing on developing the capacity of the teaching staff, innovating thinking and teaching methods; at the same time, perfecting educational administration in a modern direction, in line with development trends.

Many opinions affirmed the important role of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and coordination between schools and businesses in human resource training; proposed solutions to innovate vocational education, improve the quality of university education and build specific mechanisms and policies to create a breakthrough for education and training in the province.

The live discussion at the seminar continued to clarify the directions for innovation in teaching methods, increasing the application of technology, building a system of values and personality for students; at the same time, suggesting solutions to remove "bottlenecks" in staff and facilities. The speakers highly appreciated Ca Mau 's efforts in implementing Resolution 71, especially the direction of modernizing schools and promoting student creativity.

Speaking at the end of the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of experts, speakers and teachers, considering this an important source of data for the development of programs and projects to implement Resolution 71 of the Politburo and Resolution 281 of the Government.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan said that the province is resolutely promoting digital transformation; including implementing the "paperless meeting room" model, building a shared data warehouse, and reviewing technology infrastructure to meet modern management requirements. The Education and Training sector is required to proactively research and develop a project to develop a STEM education model, prioritizing piloting at a number of suitable facilities and mobilizing social resources to supplement investment resources.

On this occasion, provincial leaders awarded 12 gifts to support teachers in difficult circumstances and 50 scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies from the Vo Van Kiet Scholarship Fund.
