The outstanding results of Hong Van Border Guard Station in implementing the emulation movement "Border Guards join hands to build new rural areas" are: Coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to mobilize benefactors to build 1 primary school and 12 Great Solidarity houses for the poor in the area, playgrounds for students...; contributing more than 500 working days to build and repair rural roads, build and repair houses, many classrooms, and houses of people affected by natural disasters.

The unit also coordinated with philanthropists to organize the donation of hundreds of gifts with a total value of nearly 300 million VND to poor households, policy families, and single households in the area under the unit's management; implemented many models to help people develop the economy and stabilize their lives, with the support of thousands of chickens, ducks, and breeding pigs; coordinated with local authorities to maintain the model of "Community tourism - accompanying the poor"...

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Ha, Head of Hong Van Border Guard Station, among the results that the unit has strived to achieve, there is an important contribution of Major Nguyen Thanh Thai. “In the position of Deputy Political Commissar, Major Thai and the mass mobilization team coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to annually identify key contents and criteria of each locality for appropriate and effective implementation. Major Thai personally has actively mobilized and propagated people to promote their role as subjects, donate land, contribute working days, and join hands to build rural infrastructure with the motto "The State and the People work together"; propagated and mobilized people to change the structure of crops and livestock, change farming practices, and apply scientific and technological advances in production.

“Talking goes hand in hand with doing, Major Thai actively coordinates with local authorities in the area where the unit is in charge of promoting activities to help people develop the socio-economy, such as donating breeding cows and goats to households in difficult circumstances; at the same time, closely following instructions on growing bananas, hybrid corn, wet rice... so that people can proactively and boldly expand production and increase income. Mr. Thai effectively implements the "4 together" motto in villages and communes, coordinates with village elders, prestigious people, and commune officials to effectively propagate, and people actively respond to the movement to build new rural areas" - Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Ha affirmed.

Having “followed” Major Nguyen Thanh Thai to the households in the villages of A Nieng Le Trieng 1, Dut Le Trieng 2…, I understood more deeply the respectful sharing of the Chief of Border Guard Station Hong Van about the young deputy political commissar of the unit. The families of Mrs. Ho Thi Nam, Mrs. Can Hong and many other poor households were supported by the station with breeding pigs, from the initial pair of pigs, many litters of pigs were developed.

Mr. Ho Van Nhan and his wife were personally supported by Mr. Thai with ducks and breeding pigs, and now they have "multiplied" their herd of pigs, at its largest, to 10 pigs; and nearly 100 ducks. The excited smiles of Mr. Nhan and Major Thai, along with their firm handshakes, are an affirmation of the close solidarity between the military and the people; a commitment to strive to develop the economy, to build a prosperous and developed border village.

Lieutenant Colonel Cao Chi Luyen, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the City Border Guard Command, highly appreciated the contributions of Major Nguyen Thanh Thai. With the efforts of Major Thai in particular and the Hong Van Border Guard Station, it has contributed to helping the locality in the period of 2021 - 2025 reduce poor and near-poor households, gradually achieving the new rural criteria.
