The Manchester club have contacted Brighton to explore terms for a deal for Baleba this summer.
The young Cameroonian midfielder has just had an impressive 2024/25 season with the Seagulls. Carlos Baleba played 34 matches in the Premier League, scoring 3 goals.

Following moves for Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon and Benjamin Sesko, the Red Devils' spending could surpass £300m if they bring in Baleba.
According to ESPN, this promising young midfielder is valued by Brighton at up to 120 million euros (equivalent to 104 million pounds).
Previously, The Athletic said that the Baleba deal was unlikely to happen unless MU ensured the liquidation of a series of redundant players Antony, Jadon Sancho, Garnacho and Malacia.
Baleba still has 3 years left on his contract with the Amex team, with the option to extend it for another 12 months. Realizing the interest from MU, he is quite excited about the transfer.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana took on the role of "spy", trying to call his compatriot to convince him to join the Old Trafford team.
Ruben Amorim currently has Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Toby Collyer, Kobbie Maino and Bruno Fernandes all available as central midfielders in a 3-4-3 formation.
However, the Portuguese coach still wants to upgrade the midfield, with a new dynamic midfielder, physically strong and able to carry the ball well like Baleba.
