Coffee price today June 30, 2025: Decreased for 9 consecutive weeks

At the end of last week, coffee prices in the Central Highlands continued to decrease from 1,600 to 1,900 VND/kg compared to the previous week. This is the 9th consecutive week of price decline in the domestic coffee market, showing that the long-term downward trend shows no signs of stopping.

Specifically, Dak Lak and Dak Nong are recording a price decrease of VND1,800/kg compared to last week. In Gia Lai, coffee prices decreased by VND1,900 in one week. Lam Dong decreased by VND1,600 compared to last week. The prolonged downward trend is putting great pressure on coffee growers in the Central Highlands region.

Domestic coffee prices have fallen sharply due to lower global prices and slowing domestic trading due to limited supplies. Some farmers are still holding on to their stocks, and at current prices, they are reluctant to bring their products to the market. According to local traders, there is currently no factor in the market that is strong enough to support prices to rise again.

World coffee prices today

Last week, coffee prices on both the London and New York exchanges fell sharply:

On the London floor, the price of robusta coffee futures for July 2025 delivery closed at $3,661/ton, down $226/ton, or 5.8%, from last week. The September contract also fell $144/ton to $3,593/ton.

On the New York floor, the price of Arabica coffee for July 2025 delivery fell 3.6% to 303.75 cents/lb, the lowest in 6.5 months. The September contract fell more sharply, losing 4% to 297.4 cents/lb.

A report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that global coffee production this season could reach a record 178.7 million 60-kg bags, up 4.3 million bags from last year. Demand is also forecast to increase, reaching 169.4 million bags. However, Rabobank said that global coffee demand in 2025 could decline slightly by 0.5% due to high prices, as companies pass on the costs to consumers.

The 2025-26 forecast sees supply rising further to 171.1 million bags, while demand falls. This would move the market from a deficit of 900,000 bags to a surplus of 1.4 million bags. Rabobank is also bullish on supply in 2026-27, particularly due to the prospects for Brazil.

The downward pressure on prices this week was partly due to the weather forecast in Brazil, with frost risks easing in major coffee growing regions such as São Paulo and Minas Gerais. At the same time, consumer demand showed signs of weakening due to high retail prices.

However, the decline was somewhat capped by the dollar’s decline to a more than three-year low, while ICE-monitored robusta inventories fell to a five-week low, while arabica stocks also fell sharply after hitting a five-month high.
