At the end of the weekend trading session, in China, the price of rubber futures for June delivery on the Shanghai Stock Exchange decreased by 1.45% (215 yuan) to 14,575 yuan/ton. In contrast, the price of rubber futures for May delivery on the OSE in Japan increased by 0.6% (1.8 yen/kg) to 327.8 yen/kg. In Thailand, the price of rubber futures for June delivery stabilized at 74.4 baht/kg.
Compared to the end of last week, rubber prices in Thailand, Japan and China changed -2.4%, +2.5% and -1.8% respectively.
The rubber harvest in Japan is now underway and is expected to boost global supplies. However, heavy rains in Thailand, the world’s largest rubber producer, could increase the risk of flooding and disrupt production.
In China, the world's largest rubber consumer, demand remains strong, supporting price movements.
Meanwhile, in Cambodia, rubber and rubberwood exports in the first four months of 2025 brought in nearly $150 million, up 19.74% over the same period in 2024, according to a report released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).
Specifically, total revenue from rubber-related exports reached 149.8 million USD, of which rubber exports were about 148.1 million USD, and rubber wood reached 1.69 million USD.
Despite the increase in revenue, rubber export volume decreased. In the first four months, Cambodia exported 76,467 tons of rubber, down 8,961 tons, or 10.5%, compared to the same period in 2024.
In April, Cambodia exported 16,713 tons of rubber, a sharp increase of 11,546 tons (equivalent to 223.5%) compared to March 2025 and a slight increase of 607 tons (3.8%) compared to April 2024.
Mr. Khun Kakada, Acting Director General of the General Department of Rubber, said that the average selling price as of April 2025 was 1,926 USD/ton, an increase of 461 USD/ton (equivalent to 31.47%) compared to the same period last year (1,465 USD/ton).
In April 2025, the average price reached 1,989 USD/ton, up 89 USD (4.71%) compared to the previous month and 457 USD (29.84%) compared to April 2024 (1,532 USD/ton).
Cambodia's total rubber growing area currently reaches 425,443 hectares, of which 330,259 hectares (78%) are ready for exploitation, while 95,184 hectares (22%) are in the care stage.
Domestic market
Domestically, Phu Rieng enterprise stabilized the purchase price of mixed latex at 405 VND/DRC; water latex at 440 VND/TSC.
Similarly, at MangYang Company, the purchase price of latex is recorded at about 397 - 401 VND/TSC (type 2-type 1), and mixed latex is about 359 - 409 VND/DRC (type 2-type 1).
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price of liquid latex is 462 VND/TSC degree/kg (applied to TSC degree from 25 to under 30); DRC coagulated latex (35 - 44%) is 13,600 VND/kg; raw latex ranges from 16,900 - 18,200 VND/kg.
