* According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Commodity Exchange (MXV), currently, most prices of important animal feed ingredients in the world such as corn, soybean meal, and wheat have decreased by 15-30% compared to the beginning of the year.

Notably, corn is a commodity that accounts for a large proportion of raw material imports for animal feed production in our country. At the end of November, the price of US corn fell 45% to 177 USD/ton from the peak of 318 USD/ton set in April 2022.

Along with the world's downward trend, import prices of many animal feed ingredients to Vietnam have also decreased.

The latest data from the General Department of Customs shows that the average imported corn price in the first 11 months of 2023 was around 301 USD/ton, down 13.8% year-on-year; the imported soybean price also decreased by 8.9%, reaching 633.5 USD/ton; the wheat price was nearly 11.4% lower, averaging 342 USD/ton.

Due to the decrease in raw material prices, many enterprises processing and trading animal feed have announced price reductions in early October. This is the fifth consecutive price reduction this year for this product, helping to reduce the burden on livestock farmers, especially pig farmers, when the selling price of live pigs continues to decrease.
