* The live pig market in the North recorded a slight decrease in many provinces and cities.

Specifically, after slightly lowering the price, traders in Yen Bai are purchasing live pigs at the lowest price in the region of 58,000 VND/kg.

Except for Lao Cai, Hung Yen and Hanoi, where prices remained unchanged today, the remaining provinces adjusted the price of live pigs down by VND1,000/kg to a common level of VND59,000/kg.

* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased by the most 2,000 VND/kg.

Of which, Lam Dong and Thanh Hoa provinces respectively reduced 1,000 VND/kg and 2,000 VND/kg to 58,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces all lowered the purchase price to 57,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 57,000 - 58,000 VND/kg.

* In the Southern region, pig prices also decreased following the general market trend.

Currently, the lowest transaction level in the region is recorded in Long An and Tra Vinh provinces after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg at 56,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Vung Tau are purchasing live pigs at the same price of 57,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

58,000 VND/kg is the current price of live pigs in Dong Nai and Ca Mau - down slightly by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

* Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) assessed that for a long time, the prices of all types of livestock and poultry have decreased.

Mr. Thang said: "Currently, the price of live pigs is around 60,000 VND/kg, which is much higher than in previous months. With this price, farmers have made a profit.
