On September 19, the People's Committee of Nhon Chau Commune, Gia Lai Province, in coordination with the Binh Dinh Transport Training Center and related units, organized a driving test and issued A1 driving licenses to people on the island. The activity was carried out completely free of charge, from training, transportation, to organizing the test.

For the first time, more than 100 fishermen of Nhon Chau island commune, Gia Lai province, participated in the free A1 driving license test . This is a practical activity to equip knowledge, raise awareness of traffic law compliance, and contribute to building a civilized, modern and friendly island commune .

From early morning, more than 100 fishermen traveled 13 nautical miles from Nhon Chau to the mainland, landed at Quy Nhon and were arranged vehicles to take them to Binh Dinh Transport Training Center to take the exam. The atmosphere at the exam site became bustling and excited when people were able to take the driving test for the first time in accordance with the law.

Ms. Tran Thuy Vy (Trung village, Nhon Chau commune), one of the people who finished the theory test early, shared: “At first, I was a bit nervous, but thanks to careful preparation, I did quite well on the test. Now that I have a driver's license, I am very happy and confident when driving on the road.”

Nguyen Van Bay (Dong village, Nhon Chau commune) said: "At first I was nervous, but I was determined to pass the exam. From now on, when participating in traffic, I will drive in the correct lane and direction according to the law."

According to Mr. Duong Hiep Hung, Chairman of Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee, organizing free driver training and testing is a meaningful activity, not only to solve difficulties for islanders but also to contribute to improving knowledge and skills in safe traffic participation. This is also a specific step in the process of building Nhon Chau island commune into a civilized and modern locality.

“We coordinated to bring people from the island to the mainland to the testing center to take the exam. We hope that all of them will pass the exam and become propagandists, contributing to raising awareness of obeying road traffic laws, building the island commune to be more civilized, modern and humane,” Mr. Hung shared.

Accompanying the people, Binh Dinh Transport Vocational Training Center mobilized all human resources to serve the exam. Mr. Le Van Sinh, Director of the Center said: "This is a very practical activity for the disadvantaged people in Nhon Chau island commune. Therefore, all officers and employees of the center were enthusiastic, serving to the maximum to help people have convenience in studying as well as taking the exam."

According to the Examination Council, by the afternoon of the same day, the passing rate of candidates reached nearly 80%. The authorities have supported people to integrate their driver's licenses into the VNeID electronic identification system, creating convenience in using and managing personal information in a modern and transparent way.
