Always have family with you

Gia Lam once appeared in Tuoi Tre newspaper. with his twin brother Nguyen Gia Hung. Hung was born healthy, but Lam was born with Fallot syndrome, a complex form of congenital heart disease.

At the age of 2, after surgery, Gia Lam's limbs had to be amputated. Loving their child, his parents took Gia Lam from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.

For 15 years, they ran back and forth to take care of their unfortunate child. To facilitate Gia Lam's treatment, the whole family moved to Saigon to live. At first, the whole family lived in a rented house of about 15 square ^meters , and every day the couple sold soy milk to make a living.

Don't want to bother teachers to help write the test

Gia Lam said she is not self-conscious about her physical flaws because she always has her family, friends and teachers by her side. For this high school graduation exam, Lam has prepared herself with full knowledge, especially always keeping her mind relaxed to get the best results.

Despite the difficulty in holding a pen to write, Gia Lam still asked to be "self-reliant" to complete his exam.

"Literature requires a lot of interpretation, I can't ask the teacher to write and then erase it to explain with a new idea. So I want to write it myself, even though it's a bit slow, but it still contains my full ideas. If I had time, I think I would do better in literature," he confided.

Sharing about the future, Lam said he wants to become a freshman majoring in graphic design.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Manh, Lam's mother, said: "My son's academic performance is not really outstanding, but he always tries his best. Lam's will is something everyone must acknowledge. I am always proud of him, will always accompany him and hope that he can realize his dream."

The family said that although they know the road ahead is long, raising two Lam brothers to attend university at the same time is quite a burden, but as long as the children are determined, no matter how difficult it is, the family will not let them drop out of school halfway.
