Domestically, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region on the morning of October 10, 2025 increased again by VND 1,000/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between VND 114,000 - 115,000/kg.
In the old Dak Nong , traders are currently purchasing coffee at the highest price of 115,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Dak Lak province recorded a similar price of 115,000 VND/kg, also an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai region, coffee price reached 114,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Lam Dong, coffee prices increased by VND1,000/kg, reaching VND114,000/kg.
Domestic prices continued to rise following the recovery of the world market, in the context of increasingly scarce supply due to the new harvest not yet starting, while export demand remained high, causing coffee prices in the Central Highlands to continue to be pushed up.
As the world’s largest producer and exporter of Robusta coffee, Vietnam plays a crucial role in the world’s coffee supply chain. Every year, when the main harvest begins in October, international organizations publish many analyses and reports related to supply.
According to a new report from Rabobank (Netherlands), Brazil is gradually surpassing Vietnam to take the position of the world's largest producer of Robusta coffee, with an estimated output of 24.7 million 60kg bags, a significant increase compared to 19 million bags in 2020.
In contrast, the US Department of Agriculture gave a more positive forecast for Vietnam, saying that Robusta coffee output this crop year could reach about 30 million bags.
Comparing the two main coffee varieties - Robusta and Arabica - Robusta has superior advantages in terms of drought resistance, heat resistance, pest resistance and higher productivity.
In Indonesia, another major coffee producer, total output this crop year is forecast at around 12 million bags, of which 10.2 million bags are Robusta.
In just the first five months of the crop year, Indonesia exported more than 2.8 million bags of Robusta coffee, up 163% over the same period last year.
Pepper prices increased sharply
The domestic pepper market this morning skyrocketed by 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, bringing the price to between 146,000 - 149,000 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak, pepper price remains unchanged at 148,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Gia Lai also maintained the price at 146,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
In Lam Dong (former Dak Nong), pepper price remains at 148,000 VND/kg.
The Southeast region recorded a significant increase: in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau), pepper price reached 149,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday; Dong Nai also increased similarly to 149,000 VND/kg.
In particular, Dong Nai (former Binh Phuoc) increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, currently reaching 147,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the session on October 8, the International Pepper Association (IPC) announced the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,253 USD/ton, up 0.28% compared to yesterday.
In other major producing countries, pepper prices remained almost flat, with Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at $6,200/ton and Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) at $9,500/ton.
Vietnam's black pepper export price is still fluctuating between 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l.
At the same time, the price of Muntok white pepper (Indonesia) reached 10,119 USD/ton, a slight increase of 0.28% compared to the previous session.
Malaysian ASTA white pepper price remains at 12,500 USD/ton, while Vietnamese white pepper remains around 9,250 USD/ton.
According to experts, if the growth momentum is maintained until the end of the year, Brazil's pepper export turnover could exceed the 500 million USD mark - the highest level in the past 5 years.
However, this prospect still depends on the global economic situation, trade policies of major countries and especially import demand from Vietnam in the fourth quarter of 2025.
A new report from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said many Vietnamese businesses are considering cutting down on raw pepper imports from markets such as Brazil for processing and re-export to the US.
The reason is that the transit tax of up to 40% causes export costs to increase sharply, reducing business profits.
However, year-end consumption demand in the US, Europe and Asia is expected to continue to support pepper prices to remain at the current high level.
