(Dan Tri) - Small cars often have low safety scores, so this Suzuki sedan surprised everyone when it was rated 5 stars by Global NCAP.

Dzire is the first model from the Maruti Suzuki joint venture to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the fourth generation of the Dzire in India. Unlike previous generations, the compact sedan does not copy the styling of its Swift hatchback sibling, which shares the same platform.
Up front, angular LED headlights and a larger grille give this compact sedan a more mature feel, without the cutesy details of the Swift hatchback.
The body proportions are still quite strange, like most small sedans. The base model is equipped with only 14-inch steel wheels, while the higher versions use 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear end is short, with square taillights and a rear spoiler integrated into the trunk lid.
Inside the car, the dashboard design is very similar to the Swift model, although there are a few changes in equipment, such as imitation wood panels (Photo: Maruti Suzuki).
The traditional instrument cluster is combined with a 9-inch infotainment screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Higher versions get automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad, an electric sunroof, and Suzuki Connect system features.
The trunk has a capacity of 382 liters, not large but still 117 liters more than the Swift.
Suzuki Dzire is 3,995mm long, with a wheelbase of 2,450mm, meaning it retains the same size as the old model.
At the heart of the car is a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing just 80 horsepower and 113Nm of torque, or even just 69 horsepower and 102Nm if using compressed natural gas. Engine power is transmitted to the front axle via a manual or semi-automatic transmission.

The Dzire has been a huge commercial success, with over 2.7 million units sold since its launch in March 2008. The new generation Dzire will also be sold in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the ASEAN region.
