ĐNO - On the morning of November 5, at traditional markets in the city, the number of people coming to the market decreased compared to the previous day due to heavy rain, the prices of some green vegetables increased slightly. However, according to the forecast of traders and market management, if the weather continues to be bad, the price of green vegetables will likely increase in the coming days.

At Dong Da market (Hai Chau district), the price of green vegetables such as sweet potato leaves, water spinach, and Malabar spinach ranges from 10,000 to 15,000 VND/bunch; green mustard (spicy mustard) ranges from 13,000 to 18,000 VND/bunch..., especially spices have increased sharply compared to the time before the rain such as perilla leaves from 50,000 to 70,000 VND (depending on the time), now increased to 150,000 VND/kg. This is the type of vegetable with the highest price increase.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh, a trader at Dong Da market, who specializes in selling green vegetables, tubers, and fruits, shared: "Whether the price increases sharply or not depends on the weather today and the coming days. The import price in the past few days has not been high, so sales are still stable. Only the gardeners cannot grow perilla in this weather, so the price is high, selling for 15,000 VND/tael but there is no stock."

According to Mr. Le Van Ly, Head of Tan An Market Management Board (Thanh Khe District), the price of vegetables and tubers has been increasing by 5-7% in recent days (depending on the type). The selling price at the market today for mustard greens is 13,000 VND/bunch, water spinach, Malabar spinach, sweet potato leaves... 10,000 VND/bunch; tubers of all kinds are about 20,000 VND/kg.

“Because tubers are imported from Da Lat, they are not affected. Vegetables can be sourced from neighboring Quang Nam or directly from Da Nang, so heavy rain can damage them and prices will be high. Today, it is raining, so traders also imported less goods. People took advantage of the break to go shopping, so the goods sold out early,” Mr. Ly informed.

Meanwhile, fruit prices did not increase but few people bought them. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a fruit vendor at Con Market (Hai Chau District) said that due to heavy rain, many roads were flooded, so people were afraid to go on the road, and there were fewer customers coming to the market than usual. The prices of fruits did not increase compared to previous days.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuan, Head of Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market Management Board, informed that the quantity of Lagi vegetables and onions brought to the market is about 200 tons, and fruits are about more than 120 tons. Prices of goods are stable. During this flood season, fruits are the slowest sellers.

The price of green vegetables is 8,000 VND/kg, carrots 16,000 VND/kg, potatoes 13,000 VND/kg, Dalat lettuce 30,000 VND/kg, squash 7,000 VND/kg, pumpkin 12,000 VND/kg, bitter melon 18,000 VND/kg... The price of pork of all kinds has not changed compared to previous days.

Specifically, pork belly costs 130,000 VND/kg, rump meat 100,000 VND/kg, shoulder meat 105,000 VND/kg, baby back ribs cost 160,000 VND/kg; grade 1 beef costs 260,000 VND/kg.
