Durian harvest season in Dak Nong is at its peak

The durian harvest season in Dak Nong is bustling with trucks, traders bustling, the atmosphere seems to signal a productive season with good prices. However, besides the joy, many farmers are still worried because clean durian requires a lot of effort but the output is unclear.

Engineer Tran Hai, the pioneer in building a cadmium-free clean durian model in Dak Nong, not only provides technical guidance but also directly surveys and tests everything from soil, water, fertilizers and fruit.

“Making clean durian is not too difficult, but you cannot rely on words alone. I have tested 30 fertilizer samples on the market, and only 7 samples meet cadmium standards,” Mr. Hai shared.

According to him, standard fertilizer is usually about 20,000 VND/bag more expensive, a reasonable cost to build sustainable agriculture .

“If not controlled from the root, clean fruit is just a theory. Many people think that all fertilizers are the same, but long-term accumulation will cause soil poisoning,” Mr. Hai emphasized.
