Over the past 5 years, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and many difficulties, Dong Nai has maintained an economic growth rate of 7.11%/year. By 2025, the total product in the province is expected to reach more than 694 trillion VND, GRDP per capita will reach more than 153 million VND/person/year, equivalent to over 6 thousand USD/person/year, the economic scale ranks 4th in the country. The province's export turnover over the past 5 years is over 168 billion USD. The proportion of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector has decreased, while the proportion of the industrial, construction, trade and service sectors has increased.
Long Thanh International Airport is entering the final stage with a large construction volume, inter-provincial expressways, inter-regional connecting belts... not only creating new development momentum but also opening up opportunities to improve the quality of life for millions of Dong Nai residents.
Economic development associated with social welfare
Along with economic development, Dong Nai always identifies social welfare as a top priority, a measure of sustainable development. The province's consistent viewpoint is that growth is associated with improving people's lives, leaving no one behind. In recent years, Dong Nai has focused on investing in building a synchronous social security system. Tens of thousands of apartments have been built and put into use, creating stable and safe accommodation for workers, especially in industrial parks, where a large workforce from all over the country is concentrated. These "workers' houses" not only solve housing problems but also have profound humanistic significance, helping workers feel secure in their long-term commitment to the enterprise, contributing to the overall development of the province.
Dong Nai has been affirming its role as a core to promote spillover not only in the Southern key economic zone but also as a solid bridge to the Central Highlands and South Central Coast provinces. With the attention of the Central Government and the consensus of the Party, government and people, a special mechanism will be the "key" for Dong Nai to truly take off, making the province a land worth living, worth working and worth investing in the future.

In the health sector, Dong Nai has set a clear and specific goal: by 2025, the health insurance coverage rate for all people will reach 95%. This is an important indicator showing the province's interest in health care for all classes of people. Currently, the whole province has 23 hospitals with nearly 4,500 doctors, the medical team is increasingly well-trained, specialized, constantly improving professional qualifications, medical ethics, ready to serve the people. Many hospitals have been equipped with modern machinery, applying advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment, helping people access high-quality medical services right in the locality, without having to travel to higher levels. At the same time, the quality of the population has improved in many aspects, the working-age population has increased, the average life expectancy of the people has reached 76.7 years old. Investing in social welfare is investing in sustainable development, creating a foundation for Dong Nai to continue to make strong breakthroughs in the coming period.
Specialist II Doctor Le Quang Trung, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province Department of Health said: “Regarding the high techniques previously used at the central level, provincial hospitals can now do it, and district hospitals can also do the techniques previously used at the provincial level. During the past term, hundreds of new techniques have been deployed at each level, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.”
Taking people as the subject
Not only is it a vibrant urban area, Dong Nai is also a bright spot in new rural construction. The province currently ranks first in the country in the number of communes meeting the model new rural standards, and second in the country in the number of communes meeting the advanced new rural standards. Not only stopping at completing the criteria, Dong Nai focuses on building new rural areas associated with the real life of the people, so that the results are not only achievements but also measured by the satisfaction and trust of the people.
“The new countryside has changed, people’s lives have improved, and they feel more relaxed. Now, walking on clean and beautiful roads feels more exciting,” said Mr. Le Phung Hoang, Xuan Hoa commune. Ms. Danh Thi Kim Phuong, Phu Hoa commune, said: “Since the model residential area was established, the roads are bright, green, clean, and beautiful, and people’s lives have also improved. Students no longer have muddy roads when going to school, and the street lights are very good.”
The message “Resolutely develop for the people” that Dong Nai is vigorously pursuing is not a slogan but a profound understanding of the viewpoint “people are the root” that concretizes the Party and State’s guidelines in practice. The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province is making efforts to firmly consolidate the people’s hearts, promote democracy through social supervision and criticism, play a core role in creating consensus, turning policies into revolutionary actions, and turning political determination into voluntary actions of each citizen.

The New Rural Development Program in Dong Nai is not only a movement but has become a strong driving force to promote socio-economic development, narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.
“The outstanding thing in Dong Nai’s new rural construction is, firstly, the propaganda work, mobilizing people to unite and join hands in responding to the new rural construction. Secondly, building plans, programs, projects with the key goal of serving the socio-economic development in a synchronous and convenient way in people’s production, bringing people’s lives to essential needs. Thirdly, building synchronous infrastructure, education, health care and ensuring people’s spiritual life” - Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized.
For the happiness of the people
Putting people at the center, Dong Nai invests heavily in education and training. The education system is invested in expansion and modernization; the school network is spread across all areas, from urban to rural, remote and isolated areas, helping children of all ages to go to school and study in an increasingly better environment. By the end of 2025, nearly 70% of schools in the area will meet national standards.
At the same time, programs to support young people in starting a business have been widely deployed. Many young people have found opportunities to realize their ideas, contributing to innovation for their homeland. Local authorities have actively supported capital, skills training, and created conditions for young people to start a business and establish their careers right in their homeland.
The cultural and sports fields have also developed synchronously. The system of grassroots cultural institutions has brought opportunities to access high-quality services so that each citizen can enjoy a comprehensive living environment... All of these are gradually forming a new generation of Dong Nai citizens: knowledgeable, dynamic, creative, and full of aspirations to contribute.
Dong Nai today is a clear demonstration of a people-centered development journey. The economy has grown steadily; society has progressed and become civilized; people's lives have improved day by day... These achievements stem from the strategic vision of the provincial leaders, from the consensus of the entire political system and especially the unanimity of the people - the beneficiaries and also the creators of change in the era of national development.
