Over the past five years, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and numerous difficulties, Dong Nai has maintained an economic growth rate of 7.11% per year. By 2025, the province's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to reach over 694 trillion VND, with a per capita GRDP of over 153 million VND/person/year, equivalent to over 6,000 USD/person/year, ranking fourth in the country in terms of economic scale. The province's export turnover over the past five years has exceeded 168 billion USD. The proportion of the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector has decreased, while the proportion of the industrial, construction, and trade and service sectors has increased.
Long Thanh International Airport is entering its final stages with a large volume of construction work, and inter-provincial expressways and ring roads connecting different regions are not only creating new impetus for development but also opening up opportunities to improve the quality of life for millions of people in Dong Nai.
Economic development linked to social welfare.
Alongside economic development, Dong Nai province has always prioritized social welfare as a measure of sustainable development. The province's consistent viewpoint is that growth must be linked to improving the lives of its people, ensuring that no one is left behind. In recent years, Dong Nai has focused on investing in the construction of a comprehensive social security system. Tens of thousands of apartments have been built and put into use, providing stable and safe housing for workers, especially in industrial zones, where a large workforce from all over the country is concentrated. These "workers' homes" not only solve housing problems but also carry profound humanitarian significance, helping workers feel secure and committed to their businesses in the long term, contributing to the overall development of the province.
Dong Nai has been and continues to affirm its role as a driving force for development not only within the Southern key economic region but also as a solid bridge connecting with the Central Highlands and the South Central coastal provinces. With the attention of the central government and the unity of the Party committee, government, and people, a special mechanism will be the "key" for Dong Nai to truly take off, transforming the province into a desirable place to live, work, and invest in the future.

In the healthcare sector, Dong Nai province has set a clear and specific goal: by 2025, the rate of universal health insurance coverage will reach 95%. This is an important indicator demonstrating the province's commitment to healthcare for all segments of the population. Currently, the province has 23 hospitals with nearly 4,500 doctors. The medical staff is increasingly well-trained, specialized, and constantly improving their professional skills and medical ethics, ready to serve the people. Many hospitals have been equipped with modern machinery and apply advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment, helping people access high-quality medical services right in their locality, without having to travel to higher-level facilities. Simultaneously, the quality of the population has improved in many aspects, the working-age population has increased, and the average life expectancy of the people has reached 76.7 years. Investing in social welfare is investing in sustainable development, creating a foundation for Dong Nai to continue its strong breakthroughs in the coming period.
According to Dr. Le Quang Trung, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Health: “Regarding advanced techniques previously reserved for central-level hospitals, provincial-level hospitals can now perform them, and district-level hospitals can also perform techniques previously reserved for provincial-level hospitals. During the past term, hundreds of new techniques have been implemented at each level, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.”
Putting the people at the center
Besides its vibrant urban areas, Dong Nai is also a shining example in the construction of new rural areas. The province currently ranks first nationwide in the number of communes meeting the model new rural area standards and second nationwide in the number of communes meeting the advanced new rural area standards. Beyond simply fulfilling the criteria, Dong Nai focuses on building new rural areas in a way that truly reflects the lives of the people, ensuring that achievements are not just measured by a list of accomplishments but also by the satisfaction and trust of the people.
“The new rural areas have brought about changes, improving people's lives and putting them in a more relaxed state of mind. Now, walking on clean and beautiful roads feels more uplifting,” said Mr. Le Phung Hoang from Xuan Hoa commune. Ms. Danh Thi Kim Phuong from Phu Hoa commune added: “Since the model residential area was established, the roads are bright, green, clean, and beautiful, and people's lives have improved. Students no longer have to travel on muddy roads to get to school, and the streetlights are excellent.”
The message "Steadfast development for the people" that Dong Nai is resolutely pursuing is not just a slogan, but a profound understanding of the principle "the people are the foundation," concretizing the Party and State's guidelines in practice. The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Nai province is striving to firmly consolidate the people's trust, promote democracy through social supervision and criticism, and play a core role in creating consensus, transforming policies into revolutionary actions, and turning political determination into voluntary actions of each citizen.

The New Rural Development Program in Dong Nai is not just a movement, but has become a powerful driving force promoting socio-economic development and narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.
“The highlights of Dong Nai's new rural development program are, firstly, the effective communication and mobilization of the people to wholeheartedly participate in the new rural development. Secondly, the development of plans, programs, projects, and initiatives with the central goal of serving socio-economic development in a comprehensive and convenient manner, facilitating people's production and addressing their essential needs. Thirdly, the construction of synchronized infrastructure, education, and healthcare, while ensuring the spiritual well-being of the people,” emphasized Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
For the happiness of the people
Putting people at the center, Dong Nai invests heavily in education and training. The education system has been expanded and modernized; the school network spans all areas, from urban to rural, remote and disadvantaged regions, ensuring that children of school age can attend school and learn in increasingly better environments. By the end of 2025, nearly 70% of schools in the province will meet national standards.
Simultaneously, programs supporting young people in starting and developing businesses have been widely implemented. Many young people have found opportunities to realize their ideas, contributing to innovation in their hometowns. Local authorities have actively provided support in terms of capital, skills training, and created favorable conditions for young people to start businesses and establish themselves in their hometowns.
The cultural and sports sectors have also developed synchronously. The system of grassroots cultural institutions has provided opportunities to access high-quality services, allowing each citizen to enjoy a comprehensive living environment... All of these things are gradually shaping a new generation of Dong Nai citizens: knowledgeable, dynamic, creative, and full of aspirations to contribute.
Today, Dong Nai is a clear testament to a development journey centered on people. The economy is growing steadily; society is progressing and becoming more civilized; and people's lives are constantly improving… These achievements stem from the strategic vision of the provincial leadership, the consensus of the entire political system, and especially the unity of the people – the beneficiaries and creators of change, contributing to the nation's rise.
