On July 31, the domestic market kept its selling price unchanged; iron ore prices increased thanks to constructive China-US trade negotiations.

Rebar on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) for April 2026 delivery fell 73 yuan to 3,343 yuan/t.
Iron ore futures rose, supported by hopes of a further extension of the tariff truce between the world’s top two economies , although caution ahead of a high-level meeting in top consumer China capped gains.
The most-traded September iron ore contract on China's Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) rose 0.69% to 798 yuan ($111.23) a tonne.
Benchmark iron ore for September delivery (SZZFU5) on the Singapore Exchange rose 0.16% to $102.9 a tonne.
US and Chinese officials agreed to seek an extension of a 90-day tariff truce on Tuesday, after two days of talks described by both sides as constructive in Stockholm, aimed at defusing an escalating trade war between the world’s two largest economies that is threatening global growth.
While US officials said US President Donald Trump would decide whether to extend the trade truce, which expires on August 12, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent quashed any expectations that US President Donald Trump would refuse to extend it.
In an attempt to boost market sentiment, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its forecast for China's economic growth this year from 4.0% to 4.8%.
Iron ore markets have recently been more influenced by macro sentiment, analysts at brokerage Everbright Futures said in a report.
Iron ore’s gains were capped by concerns that Beijing may not announce further economic stimulus measures at a Politburo meeting in late July that is expected to shape the country’s economic policy for the rest of the year.
Other steelmaking raw materials on the DCE recovered after two sessions of decline, with coking coal and coke (DCJcv1) up 5.66% and 5.3%, respectively.
Benchmark steel prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange fell sharply. Rebar rose 1.48%, hot-rolled coil fell 2.11%, wire rod (SWRcv1) fell 1.62% and stainless steel fell 0.58%.
