Domestic pepper prices today continued to maintain a slight increase after a sharp increase on June 29. The common price currently fluctuates between 129,000 - 134,000 VND/kg, depending on the region and pepper quality. Provinces such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dak Nong, Dak Lak and Dong Nai still maintain the highest prices in this region.
According to market experts, pepper prices may continue to increase slightly by 500 - 1,000 VND/kg if purchasing power is stable, however the increase will be narrower than yesterday because the market needs time to rebalance after the sudden jump.
If the increase in pepper prices is not only short-term, the domestic pepper market may enter a new recovery cycle, especially when the rainy season ends and supply gradually decreases.
Factors supporting pepper prices in the medium term include:
Demand for processed pepper imports increased in the Middle East, South Asia and some European markets.
Pepper production in rival countries such as Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Brazil was affected by adverse weather.
Slight recovery from export orders in Q3.

Experts advise taking advantage of the current good prices to balance finances, while closely monitoring international market fluctuations and Vietnam's export policies in the third quarter to have appropriate sales strategies.
Vietnamese pepper "lost its position" in the international market, losing 11.5% market share.
According to the Q2/2025 report from Ofi – Olam Food Ingredients, part of Olam Group, the pepper harvest in Vietnam has been completed. With the rainy season starting, farmers are actively preparing for the next crop.
Falling pepper prices have prompted some farmers to sell off their pepper inventories, although total sales are still lower than the same period last year.
In Cambodia, the pepper harvest has also concluded. Meanwhile, the upcoming pepper crop in Indonesia is expected to start in July, but production is forecast to be lower than in 2024 due to adverse weather conditions.
In the past two months, pepper prices in Vietnam have dropped from VND160,000/kg to a season-low of VND135,000/kg, mainly due to tariff uncertainty and weak demand from major markets such as the US, the Middle East and China.
Ofi believes that if demand increases in the second half of 2025, pepper prices are likely to recover.
Regarding exports, in the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 100,000 tons of pepper, down from 113,000 tons in the same period in 2024. Asia led imports with 25,000 tons (up 13%), while North America imported 24,000 tons (down 25%) and Europe imported 22,000 tons (down 20%).
