The central exchange rate was adjusted to increase sharply, setting a new record. The State Bank announced the central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD on June 24 at 25,058 VND/USD, an increase of 30 VND compared to the previous session. This is the highest level of the central exchange rate ever.

Applying a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today at a ceiling rate of VND26,311/USD and a floor rate of VND23,805/USD.

The reference USD exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam was also adjusted up by 29 VND for buying and 31 VND for selling, to 23,856-26,260 VND/USD (buying - selling).

At commercial banks, the USD price this morning recorded a strong increase.

On the buying side, many banks simultaneously raised the greenback price to nearly 26,000 VND/USD, some banks even listed buying prices exceeding this level.

In the selling direction, the USD price at banks all exceeded 26,300 VND/USD, the highest level ever.

Specifically, compared to yesterday morning, the USD price this morning (June 24) at Vietcombank increased by 91 VND in buying and was 31 VND more expensive in selling, raising the USD cash buying price to 25,980 VND/USD, and the selling price to 26,310 VND/USD.

USD price at VietinBank increased to 25,995-26,305 VND/USD (buy - sell), up 26 VND in both buying and selling.

Similarly, the greenback price at BIDV also increased by 96 VND in buying and 26 VND more expensive in selling, to 26,015-26,305 VND/USD (buying - selling).

Not only at state-owned banks but also at private commercial banks, the USD price is also adjusted to a high level.

Techcombank increased the USD price by 18 VND for buying and 31 VND more expensive for selling compared to yesterday morning, the USD cash buying price is 25,979 VND/USD, the selling price is 26,310 VND/USD.

Sacombank also increased the USD price to 25,996-26,310 VND/USD (buy - sell), 36 VND more expensive for buying and 35 VND more expensive for selling.

In line with the trend, the USD price in the free market was also adjusted up. This morning, the free USD was bought and sold at transaction points in the price range of 26,320-26,420 VND/USD, an increase of 25 VND in both buying and selling compared to the previous session.

Meanwhile, in the world market, the USD price was adjusted downward.

The US Dollar Index (a measure of the greenback's strength against other major currencies) at 12:09 p.m. on June 24 (Vietnam time) was at 98.12 points, down 0.3% from the previous session.

The US dollar has retreated as risk sentiment improved significantly following the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. In addition, signals that the US Federal Reserve may cut interest rates sooner than expected also put further downward pressure on the greenback.

The USD exchange rate at banks today, April 25, 2025, recorded an unprecedented increase in the greenback price at banks, reaching nearly 26,200 VND/USD.
