Born and raised in Lam Thuong land rich in tradition and cultural identity, since childhood, the high and low Then verses, combined with the rustic Tinh zither sound, have been deeply imprinted in Hoang Khac Se's soul.

For the Tay people, Then is not only music , but also a treasure trove of culture, history, and beliefs, a spiritual flow connecting the past, present, and future. The dream of singing Then, playing the Tinh instrument, and continuing the generations of ancestors to preserve and maintain the unique sounds of his people was kindled in Khac Se's heart very early.
When he left his hometown to return to Hanoi to study professionally, he thought that the traditional sounds would give way to the modern pace of life, but Se missed and loved the melodies of his hometown even more.
His burning passion prompted him to study and research on his own. He researched documents, watched artists perform, and spent hours listening and feeling each note.
To satisfy his passion and find a training environment, Mr. Se joined a Tinh lute club in Hanoi. Here, he was taught and imparted by seniors who were experienced and had a deep love for traditional art.
This period not only helped him master the techniques, but also opened up knowledge about the cultural depth of Then and Tinh. The more he studied, the more passionate he became with the profound Then lyrics and the lyrical Tinh melody, and he decided to stick with this passion.

After completing his studies and returning to his hometown, Mr. Se actively participated in cultural and artistic activities of the commune and regularly participated in provincial competitions and performances.
During his journey to perform in many places, from small village stages to provincial cultural events, Mr. Se had the opportunity to meet many generations of artisans and culture lovers. Those trips also made him realize that the traditional art of the Tay ethnic group is facing the risk of being lost.
Older artisans are gradually disappearing, while the younger generation is less interested in traditional cultural values, due to the attraction of modern entertainment. The sound of Tinh lute and Then singing are at risk of becoming nothing more than nostalgia.
Mr. Hoang Khac Se understood that to preserve his national culture, it is not only necessary to perform, but also to inspire. He decided to teach anyone who loves it, meticulously every way of playing the instrument, the techniques of emphasizing and vibrating in Then verses, with the earnest desire to find people who share the same passion. Because he understands that teaching is not only about imparting skills, but also about imparting love, pride and a sense of responsibility for national culture.
With the Tinh instrument in hand, Mr. Se works day and night on the path of preserving the traditional culture of the Tay people. He understands that, to preserve Then and Tinh, they must be revived in community life, and must make the younger generation see the goodness, the beauty, and the soul of national culture.
Thanks to his perseverance and enthusiasm, many young people have begun to get acquainted with the Tinh instrument and ancient Then verses. They are proof that the flame of tradition has never died out, just waiting for someone enthusiastic to rekindle it.

To let the sound of the nation resonate and resonate far and wide, with his heart and youthful enthusiasm, Mr. Se has constantly spread and connected traditional values with the breath of modern life, instilling the love for Then singing and Tinh lute to many young people, contributing significantly to the preservation and maintenance of the cultural values of the Tay ethnic group.
