Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is about 18.3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

The dollar index rose 0.2 percent from a more than two-week low, making gold less attractive to non-U.S. investors, while 10-year bond yields edged up from a one-week low, Reuters reported.

“Gold prices fell as stronger-than-expected PPI data could dampen expectations for rate cuts, as this will likely be reflected in July’s core PCE inflation reading, forcing the Fed to be more cautious with its easing policy,” said Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank. “However, overall, this data does not change the bullish view on gold, as the Fed will ultimately have to choose between containing inflation or supporting economic growth.”
