Domestic gold price increases following world price

The price of gold bars and gold rings this morning, May 21, reversed and increased sharply by 1.2 million VND per tael.

As soon as trading opened, SJC gold price at Saigon Jewelry Company and Doji were listed at 118 - 120.5 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.2 million VND compared to the previous session.

Meanwhile, the price of gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company increased by 700,000 VND. Currently, this company announced the price of plain round gold rings from 114.5 - 117.5 million VND/tael.

The price of gold rings at Phu Quy Company is listed from 112.3 - 115.3 million VND/tael (buy/sell), an increase of 800,000 VND/tael.

The price of SJC 999.9 gold rings increased by 1 million VND per tael, currently trading around 112 - 115 million VND/tael.

Due to the sharp increase in gold prices, businesses have set a high difference of 3 million VND per tael, which puts the risk on the customer.

In the world, the price of gold is at 3,290 USD/ounce, a sharp increase of 65 USD compared to the same time last session. This price is equivalent to 103.8 million VND/tael when converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank , nearly 16 million VND/tael lower than domestic gold.

This morning, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 25,962 VND/USD, down 6 VND compared to the previous session.

With a margin of +/-5%, Vietcombank and BIDV buy at 25,750 VND/USD and sell at 26,140 VND/USD, unchanged from the previous session.

Meanwhile, VietinBank traded from 25,785 - 26,145 VND/USD, also up 6 VND compared to the previous session's close.

Eximbank traded from 25,760 - 26,130 VND/USD (buy/sell), unchanged from the previous session's close.
