Gold price slightly increased
Domestic gold prices both increased slightly by VND200,000/tael in both directions, bringing the gold price to VND81.72 million/tael in the selling direction.
Survey at 5:30 a.m. on March 16, 2024, gold prices on the trading floors of some companies are as follows:

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 79.70 million VND/tael for buying and 81.70 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey listed the price of SJC gold at 80.30 - 81.30 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 80.05 - 81.65 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,156,010 USD/ounce - down 6.12 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank , the world gold price is about 63,516 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 16,184 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
USD exchange rate continues to increase
Today's USD exchange rate, March 16, continued to increase by 20 VND in both buying and selling directions, at the same time the world USD also continued to increase.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 23,979 VND/USD, an increase of 12 VND compared to the trading session on March 15.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,127 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,127 VND/USD.
The domestic USD exchange rate this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks, with the selling price at 24,520 and the selling price at 24,890, up 20 VND compared to the trading session on March 15.
In the world market, the Dollar increased 0.09% compared to trading on March 15.
The dollar rose to its highest in more than a week on Tuesday after a mixed batch of data showed the US economy remained stable with some minor weakness, suggesting the Federal Reserve could keep interest rates higher for longer or reduce the number of planned rate cuts this year.
World oil prices turn down
In the world market, gasoline prices today, March 16, continued to decline from the previous session.
On March 15, gasoline prices turned slightly down after two consecutive strong increases.
According to data from Oilprice, at 8:40 p.m. on March 15 (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil was trading at $84.88 per barrel, down $0.54, or 0.63%, from the previous session. WTI crude oil was at $80.74 per barrel, down $0.52, or 0.64%, from the previous session.
Oil prices fell due to profit-taking pressure from investors after two hot sessions.
Domestic coffee prices tend to increase
Domestic coffee prices updated at 4:48 a.m. on March 16 showed an upward trend, increasing by about 700 - 800 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 91,700 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 91,900 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high at 91,600 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 91,900 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 91,000 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in Dak Lak province are purchased at 91,600 to 91,700 VND/kg.
