World oil prices
At 6:00 a.m. on October 21, Brent oil price was at 72.95 USD/barrel, down 0.11 USD/barrel compared to yesterday. WTI oil price was listed at 69.15 USD/barrel, down 0.07 USD/barrel.
Oil prices fell on concerns about falling oil demand, especially as China's growth remains slow.
Accordingly, in the third quarter of 2024, economic growth in China decreased to 4.6%. In the first 9 months of the year, China's crude oil imports decreased by nearly 3% compared to the same period last year, down to 10.99 million barrels/day.
In addition, oil prices were also affected by the news that Israel would not attack Iran's nuclear and oil facilities. This also caused oil prices to decline.
However, political tensions in the Middle East also helped to curb the decline in oil prices.

The market is currently paying attention to US economic data to predict the possibility of a rate cut by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) next month.
US retail sales rose 0.4% in September, beating expectations for a 0.3% gain, bolstering expectations that the Fed will not need to make further rate cuts in the near future.
This week, investors will continue to monitor tensions in the Middle East, US oil inventories, and other notable economic data from the US and China.
