World oil prices
At 6:00 a.m. on October 22, Brent oil price was at 74.29 USD/barrel, up 1.23 USD/barrel compared to yesterday. WTI oil price was listed at 70.76 USD/barrel, up 0.1 USD/barrel.
Oil prices rebounded amid ongoing fighting in the Middle East and expectations of Israeli retaliation against Iran, raising market concerns about disruptions to supplies from the region.
Israeli forces surrounded hospitals and shelters for displaced people in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday as they stepped up operations against Palestinian militants. Israel also carried out targeted strikes on sites belonging to Hezbollah’s financial arm in Lebanon.

Dennis Kissler, senior vice president of trading at BOK Financial, said crude oil futures were rising again as fighting escalated in the Middle East.
“ The crude oil sell-off over the past two weeks has been largely driven by long-term liquidation as the crude oil market continues to seek a balance between slowing demand and continued unrest in the Middle East ,” said Dennis Kissler.
Oil price gains were limited as China’s oil demand remained weak and is not expected to improve in 2025. The slowdown in China’s economy has weighed heavily on global demand.
Domestic gasoline prices
In the operating period on October 17, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 116 VND/liter, not higher than 19,730 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 99 VND/liter, not higher than 20,962 VND/liter.
Diesel price decreased by 179 VND/liter, to 18,321 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased by 163 VND/liter, not higher than 18,627 VND/liter. Only fuel oil price increased by 179 VND/kg, to 16,090 VND/kg.
During this period, the executive agency continued not to set aside or use the price stabilization fund for all goods.
