Oil prices rose today after Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah armed group accused each other of violating their ceasefire and as Israeli tanks fired on southern Lebanon.
OPEC+ also postponed a meeting that could have extended the production cuts by several days. The Israeli military said the ceasefire was violated after the suspects, some in vehicles, arrived in several areas in the south.
The deal, which comes into effect on Wednesday, is aimed at allowing people from both countries to begin returning home to devastated border areas after 14 months of fighting.
The Middle East is one of the world's largest oil producing regions and while the ongoing conflict has so far not affected supply, it has been reflected in the risk level for traders.
On the other hand, OPEC+, which includes the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies including Russia, postponed its next policy meeting from December 1 to December 5 to avoid conflict with another event.
Additionally, OPEC+ sources said there will be another discussion about delaying the planned January oil production increase once again to support prices.
“ It’s highly unlikely they’ll announce a production increase at this meeting ,” said Rory Johnston, an analyst at Commodity Context. The group pumps about half the world’s oil but has maintained production cuts to support prices. They had hoped to unwind those cuts, but weak global demand has forced them to delay the start of the gradual increase.
Further delays have largely been priced into the oil price, said Suvro Sarkar at DBS Bank. “ The only question is whether it will be a one-month delay, or three months, or even longer .”
The U.S. Energy Information Administration said Wednesday that U.S. gasoline inventories rose by 3.3 million barrels in the week ended Nov. 22, defying expectations for a small draw in fuel stocks ahead of holiday travel , sending prices down slightly.
Slowing fuel demand in top consumers China and the United States has weighed on oil prices this year.
Domestic retail gasoline prices on November 29, 2024 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on November 28 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND497/liter, to VND19,840/liter; RON 95 gasoline increased by VND329/liter, to VND20,857/liter.
Diesel 0.05S price: Increased by 268 VND/liter, at 18,777 VND/liter; Kerosene increased by 221 VND/liter, at 19,142 VND/liter; Mazut 180CST 3.5S increased by 111 VND/kg, at 16,125 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and mazut oil.
Thus, from the beginning of 2024 to now, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 47 adjustment sessions, including 23 decrease sessions, 19 increase sessions and 6 opposite sessions.
