Gasoline price decreased by 50-80 VND/liter, diesel price decreased by 170 VND/liter

Gasoline prices at today's adjustment period (May 5) reversed downwards after only one adjustment period. RON 95 gasoline price is still over 19,500 VND/liter.

This afternoon, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance announced changes in retail gasoline prices. The effective time is from 3:00 p.m. the same day.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, petroleum businesses also simultaneously adjusted retail prices of petroleum products.

Gasoline prices are falling.

In today's operating period, the prices of petroleum products are adjusted down.

Specifically, compared to the previous adjustment period, the price of RON 95 gasoline (the popular type on the market) today was adjusted down by 50 VND/liter, the retail price down to 19,580 VND/liter.

Similarly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 80 VND/liter, selling price is 19,150 VND/liter.

Diesel price decreased by 170 VND/liter, retail price down to 17,350 VND/liter.

In today's management session, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance still did not use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.

The petroleum price stabilization fund of some key enterprises still recorded a large positive level due to many operating periods not being used. The balance of the petroleum price stabilization fund by the end of 2024 was more than VND 6,072 billion, a decrease of nearly VND 600 billion compared to the end of 2023.

In the most recent adjustment period (April 24), the prices of all types of gasoline and oil were adjusted up.

Of which, the price of RON 95 gasoline increased by 780 VND/liter, the retail price is 19,630 VND/liter. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 740 VND/liter, the selling price is 19,230 VND/liter.

Meanwhile, diesel price increased by 490 VND/liter, retail price is 17,520 VND/liter.

Accordingly, the principle of adjusting gasoline prices is completely regulated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in line with the market and the State only intervenes according to the Law on Prices to stabilize the market when competent authorities declare a state of emergency, incident, disaster, natural disaster, epidemic and the market price level of gasoline products fluctuates abnormally.

The selling price of gasoline is calculated by the formula: Cost of generating sources + business costs + profit + value added tax.

Wholesale traders and distributors will be able to calculate and announce wholesale and retail prices of gasoline and oil within and outside their system, then notify the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the provincial People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade and the market management department where the trader has a distribution system.
