Pham Hai Nguyen was born in 2012 in Lang Son , currently an 8th grade student at Hoang Van Thu Secondary School (Lang Son City). Although not coming from an artistic family, he soon showed his talent for drawing at the age of 5, actively participating in creative competitions in and outside the province. Many of his works have won awards at the school and provincial levels, including third prize in the 2023 Lang Peach Blossom Competition.

In 2024, Hai Nguyen organized his first solo exhibition titled “Multidimensional Perspective” in Hanoi , pursuing the trend of abstract painting. This exhibition is the next milestone after he was awarded the 2025 Cricket Aspiration Award – one of the awards honoring children's artistic talent.

“The award helps me feel more confident in choosing abstract painting, and feel that I am not alone on my artistic journey,” Hai Nguyen shared.

According to artist Hoang Van Diem - who accompanied Hai Nguyen in the creative process - his paintings have a strong abstract and symbolic spirit, with a unique style of expression: "Nguyen loves Picasso very much, but does not copy, but transforms the image in a liberal way, creating a painting world rich in personality, full of mystery and suggestion".

Pham Hai Nguyen’s works are considered an open dialogue between the artist and the viewer. With instinctive lines, bold colors and illogical compositions, his paintings reflect a childish yet profound perspective on the world around him, inviting the audience to ponder and explore.
