BHG - The water supply project for Nam Son, Nam Dam, Na Vin villages (Quan Ba commune), Coc Ma village (Dong Ha commune) and Tam Son town is being invested in and is expected to be completed in 2025, ensuring water supply for nearly 1,000 households in Quan Ba district.

Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Director of the Center for Public Environmental Services and Water Supply and Drainage of Quan Ba, said: Currently, Tam Son town has about 1,600 households and the surrounding area has nearly 300 households, the total demand for domestic water and services is about 1,700 households. However, the Center can only provide service water to 650 households (customers) with a capacity of about 500 m³/day and night, because there is not a large enough supply to serve the entire town. In the dry season, the Center has to operate 3 drilled wells invested by the new unit to meet the current demand. People in Tam Son town and the surrounding area have not been supplied with water because the current unit mainly uses small water sources or drilled wells, leading to a lack of initiative in water sources. In the dry season, water shortages occur frequently, and people's demand for water is very high.

Faced with the reality that people often have to "measure" their water during the dry season, especially in the center of Tam Son town and neighboring areas; Quan Ba district has decided to invest in a project to build a water supply system for Nam Son, Nam Dam, Na Vin villages (Quan Ba commune), Coc Ma village (Dong Ha commune) and Tam Son town. The project will build a domestic water supply system from the water source in Na Sai village (Dong Ha commune), leading natural water to serve the daily life of 278 households in the above villages, and at the same time supplying water to a 4,000 m³ reservoir in Tam Son town, serving about 600 households in the dry season and 1,200 households in the rainy season. When completed, the project will contribute to completing the domestic water supply infrastructure system in the center of Quan Ba district, improving the quality of life and daily activities of the people, while promoting economic and tourism development in the project area.

The project has a maximum water treatment capacity of 1,000 m³/day and night. With the demand of households benefiting from about 530 m³/day and night in the dry season and over 900 m³/day and night in the rainy season, the project fully meets the needs of daily life. The project design includes the following items: water supply system from the source; water treatment station area in Na Sai village (Dong Ha commune) using sedimentation and filtration technology to ensure compliance with National Standard QCVN 01-1:2018/BYT before leading to the regulating tank; main pipelines T1 and T2 made of HDPE pipes with a total length of nearly 12,500 m; branch pipelines T3, T4 nearly 1,300 m long; construction of 9 centralized reinforced concrete tanks with a capacity of 20 m³; opening a new operating road over 1,015 m long, 3 m wide; Construct a circular culvert and a reinforced concrete bridge across the stream, 7.2 m long and 3.6 m wide. The total investment is over 54.4 billion VND from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Quan Ba District - Project Investor said: Currently, the investment items of the Water Supply Project for Nam Son, Nam Dam, Na Vin villages, Quan Ba commune, Coc Ma village, Dong Ha commune and Tam Son town have been completed. The unit is conducting trial operations to check, adjust, supplement, and handle arising issues, then will hand over to the District's Center for Public Environmental Services and Water Supply and Drainage for management and exploitation in the third quarter of this year. Thereby, the project will meet the demand for domestic water supply ensuring technical standards and contribute to solving the shortage of domestic water for people in the central area of Quan Ba.
